Stormy was smashing every single thing that was in her path, shouting curses furiously. She was being so loud that Icy's own shouts telling her younger sister to shut her mouth could barely be heard. Darcy, for her part, was calmly watching her sisters' catfight with a certain weariness of her own.
Those stupid fairies managed to escape once again. They were this close, this close to finally capture the Winx and bring them to Valtor. That new failure felt extremely bitter to the infamous Trix.
So here was how the three witches always dealt with failures: Stormy shouting and smashing things to pieces, Icy shouting in order to tell her to stop, and Darcy watching the little scene with disdainful annoyance.
The storm witch grabbed a vase that was set on a little table and got ready to shatter it across the room."No! Stormy, that vase is-...
CRASH. Too late.
...was pretty." Darcy ended her sentence, sighing.
Because of the noise the Trix were making, one of Valtor's minions burst into the room, looking distraught.
"What's happening??"
He looked around the room and furrowed his eyebrows in incomprehension.
"Where are the fairies?"
...If right at this moment one's glare could kill, the man would have died from the three witches' murderous ones.
Stormy blasted the bewitched minion harshly, making him fall right to the ground, unconscious. One of his accomplices arrived promptly in the sitting room, looking at both his unconscious friend and the Trix, with great confusion.
Stormy was about to attack again, but Icy stopped her in time."That's enough, Stormy! Don't make things worse!"
The curly-haired witch gave her older sister a dirty look.
Icy then turned her attention back on the confused minion."Get out of here, you filthy little wizard wannabe! And right now, if you don't want us to destroy you all!"
The poor man did not need to be told this twice. He rushed out of the room without asking for more.
"Sisters..." Darcy sighed, trying to reason with them.
"What?!" the two witches spat, glaring at their sister.
Darcy was about to snap back at them, when she suddenly noticed a large dark red stain on Icy's skirt. Blood.
"You're injured...?" she asked the ice witch with some concern as she walked up to her.
"What are you talking ab-..."
Icy stopped dead in her tracks as she collapsed to the floor. She blinked, not understanding what was happening to her. She tried to get up, in vain. A searing pain ran throughout her lower stomach, making her groan in soreness.
"Lie down, sis. You're losing blood." Darcy told her, kneeling down beside her, soon joined by Stormy.
"I...I didn't get any blow. I don't understand..." Icy muttered in confusion.
Suddenly, Darcy's sixth sense told her something. And it was rarely wrong.
She stared at the blood stain on her sister's skirt."I think...but...it can't be..."
"What? What did you see, Darcy??" Stormy pressed her.
"Icy, you...you are giving birth..." the dark witch whispered in shock.
Icy and Stormy stared at her as if she had gone completely mad.
"That isn't possible, Darcy!" Icy retorted.
The dark witch hesitantly put one hand on her sister's lower stomach and closed her eyes. When she reopened them, the look on her face was grave.
"And yet."
"Impossible!" Icy repeated, rather in order to convince herself.
The ice witch then took a deep breath.
"...Darcy, Stormy, don't you tell anyone about that! No one can know! Not even Valtor, no one!" Icy told her sisters with clear panic in her voice.
The two witches nodded vehemently.
"Stormy, go get the former nurse!" Darcy told her younger sister. "Hurry!"
Stormy teleported to the dungeons right away, panting in anxiety.
Darcy held Icy's hand in hers and squeezed it, trying to reassure her."Don't worry, you will make it out, as always."
The usual cold and disdainful look of the ice witch disappeared all of a sudden, getting replaced by to the one of any woman being afraid of giving birth to her child.
Stormy came back a few seconds later, somewhat dragging the nurse by her forearm."You evil witches! The three of you deserve to boil in the depths of Hell! You-..."
"Yeah yeah, help us now." Stormy grunted.
"Our sister is in labour, she needs immediate medical care." Darcy explained hurriedly.
"Why should I help you, demons?" the nurse spat.
Stormy growled and jolted the poor woman, making her let out a shriek of agony.
"Fine! Fine! I'll do my job..." the nurse groaned in pain.
The storm witch smirked slightly in satisfaction as she saw the nurse kneel down in front of Icy.
"How is that possible that we had never noticed anything?" Darcy asked the older lady.
"Denied pregnancy." the nurse responded curtly after having examined Icy. She shrugged.
"Sisters..." Icy whimpered in fear, staring at Darcy and Stormy with widened eyes.
The storm witch put a hand on her sister's shoulder.
"Breath in and out. Don't worry, you will be fine..." Darcy muttered as she squeezed Icy's hand.
Icy nodded vehemently and tried to control her breathing.
Three long and painful hours later, a loud cry echoed through the room, covering the ice witch's pantings."It's a girl." the nurse told her, handing her the child.
Icy took her child clumsily.
"My daughter..." she whispered in shock.
Darcy and Stormy watched with stupefaction the incredible scene that was happening before their eyes: Icy, the cruel and merciless leader of the infamous Trix was currently staring lovingly at a child. Her child.
"What's her name, sister?" Darcy asked her in a soft voice.
Icy looked into the child's dark blue eyes.
"Eirlys." she stated.
"She looks so much like you..." Stormy commented in a whisper, letting the unexpected ghost of a smile appear on her face.
"We will have to keep it a secret, sisters." Icy told them.
She then glanced sideways at the nurse who was standing up shakily, leaning against the wall.
"And so will she." she added coldly.
Stormy smirked sadistically and hurled a powerful, deathly jolt at the nurse.
The poor woman barely had time to scream, her body fell limply to the floor, her lifeless eyes staring at the ceiling.
Icy glanced at her with a condescending smirk on her face, before turning her attention back on her daughter."We will have to hide her. I can't take care of her for now, we have to get ready for the coming battle. We will soon face the Winx once again..."
Darcy and Stormy nodded. "We will find a way, don't worry. You will get her back as soon as the final battle is over."
"As soon as the final battle is over, yes." Icy repeated to herself, nodding.
The ice witch looked into her daughter's eyes one last time, squeezing softly the child's tiny hand, which was already as cold as hers.
