A/N: So, with this new chapter, we take a leap forward of three years, in order to get to the year in which the important events are going to arrive. Eirlys' quest is about to begin...
So now, the young ice witch is fifteen years old. ;)

Sitting on the windowsill of one of the windows of the common room, I am scrawling hastily on a sheet of paper the last lines of my presentation about unicorn blood properties. Alexia is sitting right beside me, flipping through her magazine energetically. She turns the pages furiously, and I know that she isn't reading her weekly magazine at all.

"What did he tell you?" I finally ask her blankly, as I just finished to write my presentation.

She rips a page out of her magazine and throws it to the ground angrily.

"That he didn't love me! That he preferred to 'have fun', and he is now with this slut!" she spats.

I wince at her words. Oh yes, she is angry.

"That filthy guy! How dares he?! I was ready to give him everything! He should be grovelling at my feet right at this moment! Beg me for forgiveness!" she continues.

"If you want, I know some quite interesting spells that could-..."

"Some spells?!" she repeats, shouting hysterically. "I wan him to suffer! As much as he made me suffer!"

"Calm down." I tell her as I stand up, silencing her with my gaze.

Over the years, I acquired influence over my friends, becoming the leader of the group.
I take her hands in mine, plunging my eyes in hers. As some tears fall out of the black girl's honey eyes, I gently wipe them away with my thumbs.

"I know he hurt you. And don't worry, we are going to make him pay. He will regret what he has done to you." I tell her confidently, before hugging her.

Of all of my friends, Alexia is the one who is the most important in my life. Since the day we met, she has always been there for me, always there to comfort me and cheer me up when I was not doing well. A thin golden chain identical to hers with our two names engraved in it dangles from my right wrist.
Alexia pulls away a few seconds later, sniffing and taking a deep breath.

"He will pay, yes." she repeats in a whisper.

Caroline arrives in the room, looking sleepy. She looks at us and then starts to laugh.

"Well, girls, when you will be finished canoodling, let me know." she teases us.

"Very funny." Alexia mumbles as she blushes.

"What have we got this morning?" the newcomer asks as she consults her timetable with one hand, savouring a slice of bread with jam with the other.

"For my part, I have got a biology exam." I respond, putting the sheets of paper in my bag. "I have to go, see you."

"See you." Caroline says absentmindedly, sitting in one of the armchairs of the room.

"Wait for me!" Selene exclaims, running up to me.

I sigh and wait for my friend, and then we both exit the common room. We walk down the stony stairs when an armour suddenly starts to tremble and get out of its base.

"Pff, redundant..." I sigh in a blasé way.

I snap my fingers and our assailant collapses to the ground, breaking off. Selene continues to walk down the stairs, skirting the bits and pieces as if nothing happened.

"Not bad. Sergei shew you this trick?" she asks me.

"Among other things, yes..." I answer, smirking.
