Part 13

~MASON'S PROV ~

The bell finally rang signaling that school is over which means I had to head to the library. I put my books back in my backpack and walk out of class and start heading in the direction of the library. I am about half way there when someone bumps into me, my bag falls off my shoulder and onto the floor and my pencils and papers fall out onto the floor. I let out a sigh and bend down to pick up my stuff.

"Whatch it!"

I look up to see the one and only Rachel, A.K.A the popular girl. She is looking down at me with a disgusted look on her face. Now Rachel is the one you want to stay away from, she's one of those girls that goes and pretends to be your friend then talk about you behind your backs. How do I know this? Well because it's happend to me, this was before I met dash and lily. Rachel used to be the sweetest girl you've ever met. You see when I first came to this school I met rachel, back before she was popular. We immediately became best friends, we ate lunch together, hung out, had sleepovers, we even got friendship bracelets to show that we will be friends forever. Two months went by and that's when everything start to go down hill. A new girl came to school and took my best friend from me and now here we are, she is now popular and pretends to go and be your friend then makes fun of you the next. But I am the only one that can see her true feelings, you see her parents split up a while ago and I guess that's how she copes with things, pretends to be someone their not. I've tried talking to her about it, but she just shuts me down and storms off. Before I could say anything to her she walks off but not before giving me a look.

Letting out a sigh I picked up my last book and put it in my bag. I kinda miss being her friend. We would always hangout after school, we always talked about boys. Or new movies coming out or even talk about food. How I miss those days.

I finally made it to the library. Walking into the library I look around to see of danielle had beat me. I find him sitting in a chair with a drawing book out. He starts drawing something in his book as I walk over to him. As I get closer I realize he is drawing a bird, I find that curious that hes drawing a bird.
"I didn't know you could draw"

He stops drawing and looks up at me with a smile on his face. Then looks back at his paper and starts to draw again.
"There's a lot of things we don't know about eachother.

"That is very true which should change."
I say as I walk around the table and sit infront of him. "Why a bird? I mean it's a pretty cool animal dont get me wrong, but of all the animals on this planet you choose a bird."

I sit down and wait for him to answer. He opens his mouth but then closes it, I look into his eyes and see a little sadness, but as soon as I saw that it went away and he pushed his emotions down.
"I just think the birds are cool."
He says as he puts his drawing book away and pull out a science book. I sit there and look at him, my curiosity growing.
"What's your favorite bird?"

He looks up at me and stares into my eyes for what seems like 10 minutes, but only been a couple of seconds.
"Eagle"

"Oh?" I raise my eyebrows and shake my head in approval.
"Ya, there pretty majestic."
I say.

"Ya. Alright! Let's get this study session thing going." He says as he claps his hands together and then start rubbing them together like he's trying to warm up his hands.

"Right." I say shaking my head getting rid of the thoughts that went through my mind. I bend down and grab my science book and my homework.

"Let's start on the first page, so it say's to open to page 246." I went and opened up my book and look up to see danielle doing the same. I smile to myself as I'm thinking that I'm actually studying with the most popular guy in school.
We sit there and study, helping eachother well I'm mostly helping him understand science. And let me just say he's hard to work with.trying to help him understand is not working well. He keeps looking at me, giving me weird and confused looks like I'm speaking a different language.
We've been there for about an hour and a half, and we finished our homework... finally. We both start packing up our things and leaving the library.

"So what's your favorite animal?" He asks.

"Tigers." I say without hesitation. He turns his head and looks at me.
"Tigers are pretty cool. Why do you like tigers.?"

"I just think tigers are cool." I say giving him a cheeky smile as I say the same words that he said to me. He just smiles and looks forward again. We continue to walk until were outside and I can see my dad there sitting in the car.
"Well, my dad is here." I look at him and give him a smile.

"I'll see you around Mason. Maybe he can hangout one day?"

"someday." I say as I start walking backwards.

"I'll hold you to that. Bye!"
I wave back and head to my car and hop in.

"Who's that?"

"Danielle."

My dad just looks at him then drives away. I look in the mirror and see him still staring and waving at me. I smile and shake my head.
