Mitch fumed as he stared at the little blonde. He was so mad, the magical teen thought steam was coming from his ears. "They had you take me out here? Distract me while your brother and my sister fall for each other? What the hell do you plan to do when she finds out your secret?"
"I'm sorry, Mitchell! I... tried to talk him out of it, to be honest. And the only one who agreed with me is Rosalie! But Edward loves her and she's his love. It's completely up to her on what she wants to do if she finds out, we're not going to take away that decision!" Charlotte paused, her gorgeous topaz eyes staring into his puppy dog brown ones. "But you have to give them a chance.. If you fell in love with someone you know you're not supposed to, Bella would want you to be happy, no matter what. You know that! I'm just trying to do the same for my brother, Mitchell."
That's when it really hit him that she had been using his actual name for this entire conversation, and he noticed that he loved the way she said it. It made him know she was being sincere.
Mitch glared at Lottie, slightly calming down. He gets it- he has definitely had feelings for someone he shouldn't. Letting out a loud, heavy sigh, Mitch closes his eyes. "Yeah, I get it." When he opened them once again, he found Lottie had disappeared from her previous spot. "Charlotte?"
With a little smirk playing on his lips, Mitchell could sense her supernatural abilities. Then in a blink of an eye, the boy disappeared out of thin air, then reappearing himself, about five feet below from where Lottie hid in a tree. Charlotte looked down with a shy smile. Swiftly hooking her legs over the tree branch she was sitting on, and dangled from it. Before he knew it, Charlotte was hanging from the tree in front of him.
"Hey, Potter. I got a question. Why are you so over-the-top protective of Bella?" The blonde asked, her brilliant golden locks pouring down in front of him. Mitch looked at Charlotte, trying to figure out his best possible answer.
"She's my little sister," shrugged the teenager.
"I'm Edward's little sister.. He's not nearly as bad as you." Charlotte teased, pointing at the brunette.
"I don't know.. Been that way since we were kids, really. We annoy and tease each other a lot, but I've always been that way with her. Maybe it's a castor thing? Or maybe it's because of what happened to the women in our family? If Bella had powers like me, I'd trust that she could protect herself. But she klutzy, and awkward, and if pressured would easily give in to demands." Mitch ran this hand through his hair so it was out of his eyes.
"Well, I'm pretty sure you've been the buzzkill in her life." Charlotte noted, flipping up, and standing on the branch once again.
"Oh no, no, no.. She does that all on her own." Mitch chuckles. "I'm the life of the party in our family. She's the loner, and she likes it that way."
Charlotte laughs. "Doubt that. You aren't nearly fun enough to be the life of any party. You're all about business and formalities, plus you're way too much of a grumpy, old man to be fun."
