“Hello Isaac.” My father said with a smug smile on his face.

“You better get that smile off your face, before I do it for you.” I said through clenched teeth putting as much anger in my voice as I could. He crossed his arms and looked me in the eyes. Aiden didn’t say anything, he just stood there.

“If anyone should be angry here, it should be me.” He said as he walked towards me.

“Do you know how betrayed I felt when I found out that my own son could read people’s minds and never told me?” He added and he stood in front of me.

“Do you know how betrayed I felt when I found out that my own father was responsible for my mother’s death?” I countered him staring him in the eyes. He clenched his jaw and didn’t say anything.

“You are a despicable human being, you know that?” I slowly started to stand up from the wheel chair and added, “The fact that you can have your own family killed, is disgusting. I hate you.” I practically spit the words at him.

“Isaac, it’s not polite to speak to Maddox that way.” Aiden said in a surprisingly calm voice. I shot him a scowl.

“Shut the hell up.” I said with bitterness in my voice. Aiden gave me a shocked look and opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.

“Looks like your execution just got moved up a couple days for speaking to your father like that.” He said as they both walked past me.

“You are not my father.” I said as he closed the door behind them.

A couple hours later River was shaking me awake. I didn’t remember falling asleep. I sat up rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

“Isaac I have been waiting all day to show you this.” River said in a whisper. He had a manila folder in his hands.

        “What is that?” I said.

“I went back to the office after I took you back to your room last night.” His eyes were filled with excitement and added, “and I found a bunch of files like this one.” He took out a sheet of paper that had a man’s picture on it with some information written below the picture.

“Read it!” River said. The file said,

Patient: Liam Hanson

Gender: male   Age: 23

Height: 6’0    Weight: 140 pounds

Eye color: blue

Special Ability: Shape Shifter

I looked up at River. “What does this mean?” I asked.

“There are other people out in the world with other powers Isaac! See look this guy is a shape shifter!” River said with an excited voice.

“What other kinds of abilities are there?” I asked getting a little excited myself.

“There are mind readers, shape shifters, fire starters, water benders, and people that can make themselves invisible!” He said as he handed me more files that all had other special abilities.

“This must have been what the Safe House was talking about! Nick and Richard said something about me saving people that weren’t mind readers from ROIM but I barely believed that mind readers existed so I didn’t ask questions about the others!” He said as he looked at some of the files.
