I got to my feet as fast as I could and went for the door.

“Isaac what are you doing?!” Alice yelled after me.

“I’m going to tell Richard about Nick being a traitor.” I said taking deep breaths trying to come myself down a little. How could Nick do this? He saw what ROIM did to Alice and he has the nerve to go and give them our location all because he was mad at her? Alice got to feet and tried to walk over to me, but she was too weak. I ran over to her and caught her before she fell to the ground.

“You can’t just accuse the Vice President of the Safe House of treason without any legitimate evidence.” She was out of breath. I set her back down on the ground and let her catch her breath.

“I guess you’re right.” I said. She looked up at me and winked.

“I’m always right.” She said. I put my hands on either side of her face and gently kissed her lips.

“Come on let’s go find River.” I said. I helped her back into her wheel chair and I pushed her back through the door.

It didn’t take us long to find River. He was in the kitchen helping himself to some food. Figures.

“Hey.” I said as River looked over his shoulder shoving food into his mouth. He spun himself around to face us.

“Hey Alice, look we are twins!” he tried to balance himself on two wheels, but instead he fell backwards. Alice burst into laughter. It was the cutest sound I have ever heard. After a few seconds of River laying on the ground laughing at himself I helped him back up.

        “Good job.” I said laughing.

“What can I say.” River said still laughing. A couple of the workers in kitchen were smiling too. Alice was wiping tears away from her cheeks. The three of us went and sat down at the tables.

“So I heard what the meeting was about.” River said this time serious. Alice and I didn’t say anything.

“Who voted against me staying?” River asked.

“Piper and Bentley.” Alice said after a few minutes. River rolled his eyes.

“Figures.” River took a bite of muffin.

“River did you know that Kayla was a spy in ROIM?” I asked. I wanted to change the subject. I didn’t want to talk about Piper or Bentley. River raised his eyebrows at me.

        “Who’s Kayla?” He asked.

“Nurse Lobel.” I said. He seemed shocked when I said that.

“Really? I thought she was just one of the few nice nurses at ROIM. I wonder if she was the one that left the back door unlocked.” He said taking another bite of his muffin.

        “Yeah she was.” Alice said.

“Do you know when we get our bunk assignments?” River asked.

         Alice shrugged her shoulders.

“You and Isaac should get them soon. I have to stay in the hospital until I’m strong enough to leave.” Alice said. “Oh speaking about that, Isaac will you take me to see my doctor?” I smiled at River.

“Want to come with?” I asked. He shook his head and finished off his muffin.

“I’m going to go see about bunk assignments.” He said. I nodded and pushed Alice towards the hospital. The doctor was waiting by her “room” when we got there.
