I decided that in this world littles are fairly common so it isn't unusual to see littles in public
"Puppy! Daddy thewe was a puppy!" Bucky giggled.
"You're seeing all sorts of animals, aren't you?" Sam commented, having already heard Bucky cheering about two cats, a bird and three rabbits.
Bucky nodded, "Uh huh! I sees aww da amimaws."
Sam glanced over at Bucky for a moment, "Hey Buck, what do you want for dinner? I need a few more ideas before we get to the store."
"Dino nuggets!" Bucky grinned.
"Okay, we can get dino nuggets but we need other things too. We aren't just buying things for tonight." Sam explained.
Bucky thought for a moment, "Um... s'ghetti."
"I already have that on the list. Anything else?" Sam asked.
"Pwums!" Bucky cheered.
Sam chuckled, "Plums aren't really a dinner food honey." Bucky's happy expression turned to a slight frown. Of course, Sam noticed, "I'll get some plums for you sweetie, but we need things for dinner."
"Okay." Bucky mumbled, "Can we get stuff fow chicken alfwedo?"
"Sure honey." Sam smiled.
After a few more minutes of dinner requests and random comments from Bucky about animals he saw on the way they arrived at the store. It didn't seem like it would be too crowded.
Sam decided it would be best for Bucky to hold his hand. Partially to ensure that Bucky wouldn't wander off, but mainly to prevent him from slipping on the ice again. Bucky was well behaved and didn't like being alone around strangers so wandering off wasn't a big problem, but Bucky did tend to get hurt a lot.
"Hold my hand Buck." Sam extended his hand to the smaller boy.
" 'kay Daddy." Bucky grabbed onto Sam's hand happily.
"Alright Bucky, I need you to stay with me in the store. I really don't want you to get lost." Sam explained.
"Okay." Bucky gave a happy nod.
When they got inside they approached a large cluster of people. Bucky grabbed onto Sam's arm, a bit afraid. He clung to Sam until there were fewer people. He really didn't like going places with a lot of people but he didn't want to be home alone.
"Are you okay honey?"
"Uh huh." Bucky nodded.
"Alright." Sam kissed the top of Bucky's head.
They continued through the store with out much of a problem. From time to time Bucky would cling tightly to Sam. He never wandered off or complained.
Finally getting all of the groceries Sam and Bucky headed for the check out lines. Luckily there weren't too many people there and the few that were didn't make Bucky nervous. An older lady in line had picked up on Bucky being little and commented on how well behaved and adorable he was.
By the time they were up to the front of the line Bucky was starting to get bored and began looking at the toys and keychains by the check out. Nothing was really that interesting at first, then something caught his eye. He quickly tugged on his daddy's sleeve to show him.
"Hi Bucky." Sam continued to check out the groceries.
Bucky tugged on Sam's sleeve again. He really wanted Daddy to see what he'd found.
"What baby?" Sam turned to face the little.
"It's you." Bucky held up a small falcon tsum tsum.
"I see that honey." Sam smiled, "Where'd you get it?"
Bucky pointed to one of the shelves in the checkout area. Sam finished with the items and walked with Bucky over to the shelf with the tsum tsums. Bucky put the tsum tsum back on the shelf.
"Sweetheart, grab that toy again." Sam said.
"Why?" Bucky listened and grabbed the falcon tsum tsum.
Sam handed Bucky another tsum tsum, "Now it's me and you, Sugarplum." He earned a giggle from the little.
"There Stevie and Nat too." Bucky pointed to more tsum tsums.
"Yeah baby." Sam smiled and ran his fingers through Bucky's hair, "Did you want one?"
"I don' need one." Bucky mumbled.
"I know you don't need one, I asked if you wanted one. So do you want one?" Sam asked again. Bucky nodded his head, "Then pick one out." Sam kissed Bucky's head.
"But I don' need it." Bucky replied he didn't understand why Sam just wanted to get it for him.
"You're not always going to need something for me to get it for you, sometimes you just deserve to get something." Sam explained, "And you were really good for the whole trip, I just want to get you a little reward for being a good boy."
"Oh, okay." Bucky smiled and grabbed the falcon tsum tsum.
"Is that what you want?" Sam asked.
"Yeah," Bucky nodded happily, "Cause it Daddy."
"Alright. Let's go pay for it then we'll go home." Sam told his baby.
