"She's waking up!" Someone cried out.

"Doctor! Doctor!" Another yelled.

With a small groan, you slowly opened your eyes. The bright lights around you blinded you until your eyes slowly adjusted. You looked at the pale teal colors of the room, struggling to take in the medical equipment scattered around. A nurse was looking at you expectantly. "Can you hear me?" She asked quickly.

Your eyes bounced and jittered, unable to remain stable and balanced. "Where.... Where am I?" You frowned, your throat severely parched and scratchy. It felt as if your vocal chores hadn't been used in ages.

"You're in the hospital, (Y/N) (L/N)." The nurse answered.

"But....how?"

"Is it true?" A man asked in shock. He rushed over to the bed and peered down at you. "Merciful lord, she's actually awake!"

"Doctor, she appears to be going through some slight shock."

The doctor gave the nurse a firm nod. "Miss (Y/N), is it?" He asked, sitting in the chair beside your hospital bed.

"What happened? Why am I here? How am I here?" Your brain buzzed with many questions, yearning for answers.

"Whoa, slow down!" He urged. "You're still recovering!"

"From what?"

"According to your family, you randomly disappeared without a trace one day. You were classified as missing for about five months before miraculously appearing in your backyard. You were unconscious, starved, and on the brink of death. Since then, you've been in a coma for the past two months."

"Two months?" You gasped. You would've shrieked if your vocal chords had allowed you to. "No...."

"Miss (Y/N), do you remember anything?" The doctor asked, eyeing you critically. "Why did you go missing? Were you kidnapped?"

Your brain was still fuzzy, not used to your body being up and running. It was having a hard time recalling any events or memories of any kind. "I.... I don't know, sir. I can't remember."

"Your parents claimed you mumbled someone's name once or twice when they found you. Rodney, I think." Your eyes widened slightly when you said that, the only thing coming to mind was a blurry face with all-too-familiar striking blue eyes. "They said they never knew of any Rodney in your life. Was he a kidnapper of sorts?"

"I'm not sure." You lied. Since your brain really couldn't recollect any information at the moment, you knew it would be best to keep quiet until it got working again. Didn't want to spill any sensitive information or anything without really knowing.

"Your parents found this in your hand when they found you." He held up a small gadget. It looked strange, but for some reason it struck a chord. "They claimed to have never seen it before. Do you know what it is? What is does, even?"

You slowly took it from him and eyed it incredulously as you slowly remembered what it was. "No." You quietly breathed out, lying once more as your memories began to flood back to you. You remembered meeting the Rusties in the dumpster, and the first moment you locked eyes with Rodney. You clearly recalled Wonderbot showing off with some plates and the fight in the Chop Shop.

"Doctor, it's time for her medicine." The nurse spoke up.

The doctor nodded and rose from the chair. "Rest up, (Y/N). The quicker you recover, the quicker you can go back home."

You nodded slowly as he left the room. The nurse gave you multiple pills, which you swallowed graciously once some cold, fresh water was presented to you. You only cared about the refreshing water, of course.

As you let your head fall back against the soft pillow, you began to feel drowsy. You knew it was a side effect of the medicine, but you couldn't help being anxious about it. It reminded you all too much of when you had been starving to death. As your eyes fluttered closed, the last thing going through your head was the kiss you had finally shared with Rodney just before leaning his world.

You yawned as you opened your eyes, still slightly groggy. You had been released from the hospital for about three weeks already, but you only just now had an actual good night's sleep. You stretched in bed, refusing to remove yourself from the comforting covers as you looked at the clock. It was about ten o'clock.

Lazily rolling onto your side, you grabbed your phone from underneath your pillow. You pressed the button, seeing a text from your mom on the home screen. She said that she and the rest of your family decided to go to your aunt's for the weekend. They decided to leave you home not only because you were sleeping, but they figured you weren't really ready to explain your previous situation with the rest of the family yet.

You smiled to yourself, respecting your mother's decision that was wise on her part. You hadn't even opened up to your own immediate family yet, and frankly, you never planned to. Nobody would believe you; everyone would think you were crazy. You were sure a lot of people would figure that you were out doing crazy drugs during the five months of your absence if you told them the truth.

Literally rolling out of bed and almost falling onto the floor therefore, you slugged out of your room and went to get some food from the kitchen. You took your many prescriptions first, though. Ever since practically starving yourself to death, you body hadn't exactly trusted you and was still suffering some major damage. Your body was demanding that you eat much more than anyone should, and even with that being done, you weren't gaining back any of your previously lost weight. Your body was struggling right now to say the very least.

After slowly eating your breakfast, you went back into your room. You set your phone down on your bed and got changed. You also brushed your teeth and cleaned yourself up in the bathroom shortly after. When you came back into your room, you went to turn on your TV, but something stopped you.

A strange blue glow was coming from the small pile of dirty clothes that had accumulated on your floor since you got back home. You cautiously dug through the pile, soon pulling out a pair of pants. Reaching into the back pocket, you pulled out the device.

You frowned as you inspected it, knowing it was just a reminder of Rodney and the gang, the friends you made that you would never see again. The flickering blue glow of the device's center orb mocked you, reminding you of Rodney's sparkling eyes.

Sadly, you looked over the device, inspecting all of the parts that Bigweld had fixed. The new pieces stood out, being much shinier than the rest of the pieces. A new slide switch was on the far side of the back, also. It had never been there before.

You furrowed your brows in curiosity when you saw it. Why would Bigweld add that if it wasn't there before? It wasn't even there before it first broke, so why should it be there now? You slid the knob down, gasping when the orb clanked as the blue light instantly cut out.

Staring at it suspiciously, you slid the knob back up and watched as the blue light came back on. Was it some kind of activation switch? If so, why wasn't it really doing anything other than turning the useless light on and off?

Flipping the device back over in your hand, you gazed into the swirling blues of the center orb. You tried to remember how to activate it, desperately hoping you could find a way to get back to your friends.

You recalled when you first dug it up in your backyard. You had curiously observed just as you had done now and had throughly inspected it. The memory played back in your mind like a film reel, crisply showing each and every detail. You finally snapped yourself free from the recollection when you saw the mental image you were searching for.

Making haste, you flipped the device back over to look at the backside. Besides the slide switch was a small golden box right in the middle of the device. In its center was a small square who's edges were clearly defined. Carefully pressing the button, you realized that this just might not be the end after all.
