"So how're you and Ben?" Gisele asked as she sat next to Roger who immediately held her hand in his tightly.
"We're doing good," Leilani answered, her stomach swarming with butterflies by how nervous she is. "He's really amazing."
"Well he better be," Roger spoke. "Just tell me if he's ever being an asshole to you and I'll have a talk with him. Don't want that boy to lose you after having him drooling over you."
"I'll tell you, Rog," Leilani chuckled as did Rami and Brian. "But I'm pretty sure the guys won't let him."
"They have become protective of her," Rami said. "Gwilym and Joe won't leave Leilani and Ben alone and when they see them kissing, they both drag Leilani out and warn Ben to stop sucking her face off."
"Wow."
Brian, Roger, Gisele, and Miami laughed a little at what Rami said before they quieted down when the Golden Globes started again. Rami immediately grabbed Leilani's hand when he noticed her take a deep breath in.
"Here are the nominees for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama," Leilani felt her heart quicken as she saw her face displayed on the screen. She smiled, the cheers of everyone making her heart just go crazy and when every nominee was called off, it was time to present the winner. "And the Golden Globe goes to..." Rami held her hand tightly as Queen held each other's hands. "Leilani Adisa. Bohemian Rhapsody."
Leilani couldn't believe it, feeling goosebumps rising on her arms. Rami and the others stood up, smiling widely. Rami helped her get up, hugging her tightly as Leilani hugged the others just as tight. She went on stage, getting congratulated by Timothée who yelled it out loudly. She heard the familiar tune of We Are the Champions and she smiled.
She grabbed the Golden Globe, hearing cheers still. She smiled, her eyes becoming slight blurred with tears as her hands shook.
She couldn't believe it. She waited until the people quieted down, clearing her throat when she spoke up.
"Wow," she breathed out. "Wow. Wooh. This is... Unbelievable. I'm freaking out really bad right now. Just... Wow. I'm in awe right now. I'm shocked. My heart is literally about to fly off my chest." She heard cheers still going on. "This is just... Wow. Darn it Rami I won't be able to top off your speech dude. But, thank you to you all. Lady Gaga, Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman, and Rosamund Pike, you were all outstanding in your roles. You blessed us all. You blessed me with your amazing roles and I want to thank you for that."
Gisele sniffed, Roger wrapping an arm around her.
"Freddie Mercury was and is an amazing person. I got to know him better and thanks to him I became friends with amazing people that I love dearly. Freddie Mercury..." Leilani fanned her eyes. "I'm getting emotional sorry. Freddie Mercury still has the power to bring people together to this day. This award, it's not for me. I don't want it to be for me. I want it to be for Gisele Taylor, who was the woman that stayed by Freddie's side, sang with him, was loyal to him, the woman who didn't care what media said. The woman who—who believed in anyone and saw the goodness in a person, the woman who helped those and aided those who needed hope. I want it to be for Freddie who did what he did, broke barriers, achieved his dreams, became a legend... This is for Queen. This is for Gisele Taylor. This is for Freddie Mercury. "You can be anything you want to be, just turn yourself into anything you think you could ever be." Thank you."
She walked off stage, cheers following after. She looked up, nodding while tears streamed down her face.
"I told myself I wasn't going to get emotional."
