That was that. It was over. Meizuo turned away from the sight of Caina and Terrence kissing at the airport. He figured that his final act of love for Caina would be to bring her to the airport and try to catch the man she loved, but it turned out seeing the woman he loved in the arms of the man she loved was too painful to bear.

He drove aimlessly around the city for a few hours until he found himself at his favorite bar. Might as well have a drink, he thought as he entered, listlessly walking through the crowd as he made his way to the bar. There, he caught sight of a familiar blue coat that made him raise his eyebrow. He took the seat next to her and saw he was right. "What are you doing here?"

Xiaozi looked at him and her eyes widened in surprise. "Why are you here?" She asked, and he gave a half smile. "I needed a drink," he replied, and noticed the drink in front of her, "Looks like you need one too." He gestured to the bartender for his usual then turned back to her. "You look terrible," she said in that blunt, honest way of hers and it made him laugh. "I just let go of the love of my life. What do you expect?" He couldn't stop the bitterness from creeping into his voice. "Ouch. That hurts," she said, and he saw the understanding in her eyes, "I know what that's like." She bit her lip and cast her eyes down to her drink. As she took a sip, he realized that she did know what it meant to make sacrifices for the one you love, to put their happiness above yours.

He raised his glass to her. "To being fools in love," he said, and she smiled as she clinked her glass to his and they downed their drinks. "To us fools," she shook her head as the bartender refilled their drinks. "I tried to make her feel young again by throwing a picnic and running around in the park. Even dragged F4 into it," he said, trying not to think of how cute Caina looked that day. "Stupid," she laughed, "I brought him to the hot springs and tried to seduce him... while the girl he loved was in the other room." He laughed at the absurdity of it. "Stupid!" He exclaimed, taking a swig of his drink, and she laughed while taking a sip of hers. "I know, it was really stupid," she shook her head, and he surprised himself by putting a hand on her arm.

"Any guy who wouldn't want to be with you is stupid," he said softly, "I guess we really just can't help that the heart wants what it wants." She smiled at him, a sheen of tears shining in her eyes, "Thank you. That means a lot," she said, "You're a great guy too. Someday you'll find that girl who would be willing to be a fool for you." They smiled at each other and clinked glasses again. Who knew, maybe someday, the stars would align for them and they would look back at this night as the beginning of something they never saw coming. But for now, just for tonight, it felt good to be with someone who knew how painful yet beautiful love could be.
