time ticked by pretty quickly on a saturday afternoon and 2pm, the time that reece was supposed to be coming over to my house, had arrived. i was sat in the kitchen, with view of the front door, while i waited for him to arrive. we'd be home alone for a few hours, since i haven't seen him since the day he got back from tour a few weeks ago.
i glanced at the clock, the anticipation of seeing him again flowing through my bloodstream. 14:01, he's late. by a minute, i know, but who am i if i'm not being a petty ass bitch?

a shadow approached the front door and a few loud knocks rang through the walls. i walked up to the door, opening it and greeting my gorgeous boyfriend, stood outside in the cold having walked to my house.

"one minute late, bibby," i winked, offering him inside. he did that thing that he always does when he's trying to persuade me: he took me by the waist and pushed our hips together, with me looking up at him through my eyelashes.
"but hey, i still made it on time," he grinned cheekily, pecking my nose.
"eh, debatable," i grinned back, leaning up to catch his lips in a swift kiss. we stood in the doorway for a minute, in each other's arms, staring into each other's eyes.
it wasn't until he noticed me shiver that he realised we were still stood in the icy breeze of the doorway. we moved away and i closed the door, leading him into the kitchen and grabbing a pair of glasses from the cupboard.

"lemonade?"
"yes please," he smiled, searing himself at the table. i handed him his drink and we headed into the living room.

i pulled my hair into a ponytail and sat on the sofa with him. we deserved a catch up after so long. we talked about anything and everything for a good hour or two, him telling me about all the new tour stories and me telling him about my studies and what my family had been up to.
the conversation finished and we sat in silence, a content sigh falling from my lips.

"come here baby," he cooed at me. i crawled onto his lap and he wrapped his arms around me, kissing the top of my head, "i missed you so fucking much."
"i missed you too, bibs," i smiled, his green eyes piercing through me, sending fragments of joy into my veins.
"no, don't say it like that, then it just sounds like you're agreeing with me. and if it just sounds like you're agreeing with me then it loses it's meaning," he explained in a baby voice.
"well i'm sorry mister philosophical, let's try that again, shall we?"
"i missed you so fucking much, y/n,"
"i missed you."
his face lit up with glee as he giggled at our stupidity, before we shared another sweet peck in the afternoon light.
