If there's one book that is almost universally hated by modern readers, it's the Twilight Saga, but I've never seen someone take a hack at rewriting it (aside from inserting their own OCs in). I searched YouTube, "How I would rewrite Twilight," and received no hits. Also, I've been wanting to vomit out my thoughts on this somewhere, so why not here?
It's been awhile since I read the books so forgive me if I forget something. Also keep in mind that the version I have may be no better Stephanie's.
Anyway, here's some common complaints on the series based on my Internet romps:
-Bella is a boring Mary Sue
-Edward is a creepy and abusive dude
-Jacob imprinting on Renesmee and only caring about Bella before because of the unborn child is stupid and creepy
-Bella and Edward's age difference is promoting pedophilia (guys he's a vampire quit being so picky. No one hates on Tuck Everlasting for this, and the age difference there is even worse.)
I don't know if my version will fix this, but FYI Renesmee isn't in this version at all, and the presence or lack thereof of imprinting is neither confirmed nor denied...
Anyway, here is how I would rewrite Twilight.
