So I have another way to rewrite Twilight.
So I've been watching people watch Twilight because I don't want to watch it myself, and I've seen some clips of the movies (mostly Eclipse and a little Breaking Dawn) that have potential. There's tension. That feeling of something big coming. A hint of unrealized action underneath the cheesy romance and awkward love triangle.
So I want to explore that for a second.
Here's the pitch:
Tensions are brewing between two vampire factions, one the Cullens agree with (vegan vampires who eat animals and want to reveal themselves to the humans) and one the Volturi agree with (non-vegan vampires who want to eat people and keep themselves hidden from humans as they have for thousands of years). When Bella arrives in Forks and forges a relationship with Edward, those tensions explode. War breaks out between the factions and Bella is caught in the crossfire. Throw in Jacob's werewolf squad and his one-sided love for Bella and you've got a pretty neat saga set up.
