So Eclipse, like my other books, will be kept the same plot-wise, but with minor changes. The lover of the guy who tried to kill Bella, Victoria, tells the Volturi that she will enact justice against Bella and the Cullens, and then we switch over to Bella going through her cancer treatments, both Edward and Jacob at her side to support her. Edward and Jacob have something of a weird relationship - there's a love-triangle-like rivalry between them, but also a mutual goal: to protect and support Bella at all costs. All Edward wants is to see Bella alive, well, and happy, and he prays daily that she will recover from her cancer. Jacob, on the other hand, doesn't feel Edward is suited to protect Bella, since he is a vampire and there is still a part of him that craves Bella's blood. Edward respects Jacob's opinion but stubbornly resolves that he won't abandon Bella.

Meanwhile, the trio find out that the Victoria is in town and craving justice, and Edward lets it slip to Jacob that he's maybe a fugitive of the Volturi. Jacob loses it and they all agree that it might be best if Bella goes into hiding. Bella tells her father that she's leaving to go back to her mother, then steals away into the mountains under the protection of Jacob and his pack. The plan is that Bella stays in the mountains with the pack until Edward has worked out the situation with Victoria.

However, Edward is making no progress with Victoria despite doing everything to stop her from persuasion to threats. The only way to stop her may be to kill her, something Edward doesn't want to do for his own safety. While he's trying to figure out what to do, he gets a frantic call from one of Jacob's pack members that Victoria has found Bella and is attacking the pack. Edward rushes to the mountains right that minute and joins Jacob in valiantly defending Bella while one of Jacob's pack members whisks her away into the forest to find a new hiding place for her, despite her insisting that she fight with her friends. Edward is the one who kills Victoria, and the book ends with him and Jacob finding Bella unconscious in the forest, with the pack member protecting her frantically trying to get her to wake up.
