-Third Person PoV-
All he saw was a pitch black.
The only other thing he saw as a light at the center of void.
He couldn't move his body, almost as if he was paralyzed.
However when he thought he was gone, a voice reached his head.
"Wake up Shinso!"
And from there he nearly jumped out of bed.
-------------
A purple haired teen snapped awake, nearly launching himself out of what seemed to be a bed.
"Midoriya!"
He looked around to see that no one was around and he was all alone in a paper white with some strange looking machines.
"Oh..."
Gently, he pushed himself up against the back of the bed, being careful not to hurt something. The first thing he started to hear was a beeping noise coming from one of the machines.
He looked downwards to see that there were wires implanted in his left arm, one of them attached to the machine that was beeping. Slowly, he grabbed the pole that the wire was connected to and pulled off a few extra ones. Sure it hurt a bit but the only thing on his mind was Midoriya.
Memories of what happened before he passed out flooded his mind, his eyes widening in panic. He needed to see Midoriya. He needed to make sure he wasn't dead. His breath hastened as he hastily pulled his legs out of the bed. He used the pole next to his bedside to help him stand up, since his legs had decided that they couldn't function on their own.
Once he was up the teenager started to slowly walk out of the room, his entire body feeling as if it had been hit by a truck. But that feeling was nothing compared to the overwhelming sense of dread overrunning his sense of mind. What if that crazy bastard actually killed him?
No no no calm down Shinso. It'll be alright...I think. Just take a deep breath. To the count of five now. 1...2...3...
He couldn't finish as memories of him trying to reach for those deep breaths blocked his vision, increasing his panic. No, stop, don't think like that. Calm down. Don't freak out. Not now.
Shinso's breath shook as he now realized that one of his eyes was being blocked by bandages. What...? Wait, worry about that later. Midoriya is more important than some stupid bandage. Keep on going brave soul! You're going to see him sooner than expected if you stop freaking out over every little thing.
A nurse approached him, catching him off guard. He turned around quickly as he prepared to smack the poor lady. It was just off of reflex unfortunately. Maybe some of the blame was to fall onto his current inner panic.
"Patient of room 4-B? What are you doing out here? You shouldn't be here!"
Shinso used his one free hand to grab the nurses shoulder, struggling to keep himself upright. His eyes showed fear and lots of it. Tears were starting to settle into his eyes as his voice croaked.
"Midoriya...Where's Midoriya...?!"
The nurse was taken aback at first, but then remembered that he didn't know how the poor fellow turned out.
"Midoriya? As in Izuku Midoriya of class 1-A?"
Hitoshi felt a smile grow on his face as the nurse understood who he was talking about. That must mean he's okay right?! Surely that dreadful smile on her face was just from some other patient she was thinking of right? Yeah, that had to be the case! There's no way Midoriya could die after all!
"Ah...I see. He's currently not allowed visitors so I'll have to escorts you back to you room."
Shinso felt his face drop instantly. He needed to see Izuku. He needed to know that he was ok and breathing and not dead! Hopefully this nurse understands...
"No...Please...I have to see him...!"
The nurse simply shook her head, her wavy brown locks swaying from side to side. A no was not what Shinso needed right now.
"He's not awake and needs rest. Also don't use your voice too much. Let it heal. After all, you just barely made it out with it."
Barely...made it out with his voice? That means that the explosive pick DID nearly kill him! There's no way that you couldn't be near death if you barely made it out with one of the key components of communication. Well, in a fight anyways. He was choked pretty severely.
"...Please?"
The nurse took a deep breath in, guilt settling in her chest as Shinso gave her the most pleading eyes he's ever given anybody in his life. He's usually only does the eyes when he really wants something. Say, for example, an Eraserhead action figure!
After a second deep breath the nurse looked around, as if checking to see whether something was there or not and then looked at the purple haired teen.
"I'll let you visit him. But only for 5 minutes K? After that you're going straight to your room. After all I can't risk losing my job since it's the only thing keeping my family in a home with food."
Shinso allowed a few tears to roll down his cheeks as he bowed as far as he could bow. Which wasn't that far due to the injuries located on his abdomen.
"Thank you...!"
The nurse sighed as she carefully helped the shorter teenager to room 4-F, where Midoriya was apparently being held at. Once she had opened the door Shinso had darted to the green haired teens side, staring intently at his lifeless body. All forms of panic subsided as he placed his head down on Midoriyas chest, listening to his subtle heartbeat. He could've fallen asleep if the nurse hadn't carefully dragged him upwards and led him back to his room.
Had five minutes passed by that quickly? It was almost impossible to believe. Then again, when you're being comforted I guess time does go a bit faster than you would expect.
Shinso allowed himself to be situated into the bed, the nurse tenderly helping him. The purple haired reen gave one last thanks to the wonderful lady before she exited the room, leaving him alone once again. He laid down as he allowed himself to face the blinding light that was the ceiling.
Whilst he would be complaining about how boring this is, he couldn't help but feel extremely lucky. Not only did he survive and Midoriya too, but he also got to see his friend with the help of a nurse. (Who was willing to bend the strict rules just for him.)
Hopefully he'll be able to see Midoriya again tomorrow. He hopes even more that the nurse that allowed him to see Izuku is given a raise and a promotion. From what he heard it must be hell trying to keep your entire family afloat. God bless.
Slowly but surely Shinso laid his head against the pure white pillow on his bed and fell asleep. The only thing that filled his dreams were laughter and, for some reason, an overwhelming sense of dread.
Must be nothing. Just dream stuff probably.
(Yoyoyo I'm back finally guys! It's been a while since I've written so how did I do with this chapter? Does it hold well against the ones? Well hopefully since I'm writing this at 3am. Why am I writing this at 3am? I honestly have no idea anymore.)
