[A/N haha update machine go brrrrrrrrrrr]

A few days passed after the rather intense fight between him and Midoriya.

To say those days weren't miserable would be a lie not even he could tell without it being obvious, even to the untrained eye. It had become far too apparent to Hitoshi that– in a rather deep and obscure place of his heart– he had grown just a tad too close to Izuku than he would care to admit. Not in the romantic aspect of things, good lord no! He was already too confused by his incognito search results after a heated session of under the pants exercise. Besides, they have practically only just met. Sure they may share a similar trauma between the both of them, seeing that they both had been cockwrangled by Bakugo during a capture the flag game gone wrong, but all that really changed was the fact that Izuku...was...blind in one eye.

Shinso swallowed the thick lump of regret that formed in his throat just by thinking about what happened to Midoriya. He didnt want to think about it, yet another reason as to why he's been avoiding him. It may be a bad move on his end, avoiding Izuku like this, but he couldn't help but isolate himself after snapping that harshly towards him. A large part of him was afraid of the reaction he would get from Midoriya if he paid him a second visit. The smaller part was more afraid of the chance that it could go even worse than the last and only time he visited.

His hand scribbled down numbers and symbols on his math homework; at the moment his mind couldn't even fully register the problems until they were already finished. He was too busy thinking about Midoriya.

Midoriya. Midoriya. Midoriya.

That name plagued him now, always filling his head with worries and questions. Is he being treated well enough? How is he doing? When will he be back in service? Will he ever be back in service? Is he too damaged? Is he alive or did something go horribly wrong...?!

His hand stiffened, pressing down onto the paper with more pressure than he intended. An audible snap broke him out of that awful spiral of thoughts his head liked to send him in, bringing him back to reality. He turned his hand over, the pencil slipping from his grasp as he looked at his palm. Would he still have this hand if Midoriya hadn't helped him defeat that son of a bitch Bakugo in whatever crazy state he was drugged into? Did this hand offer any value to that fight?

A sudden jolt of pain struck the inside of the cheek, bringing awareness to the fact that he had started biting it. The awfully familiar metallic taste slipped onto his tongue; he decided right then and there he didnt like the taste and spat it out into the trash can next to him. His eyes reconnected with his paper, trying to focus on the jumbled mess of words and numbers that bled further together the more he tried to get a grasp of it.

After a few seconds of trying to swing back into the momentum, Shinso pushed himself up from the chair with a frustrated expression on his face, "I can't do this. Not when I'm like this."

A rather appealing thought of handing in the work half finished danced across his mind, but he brushed it under the rug knowing fully well that the teachers wouldn't let it slide. This was a prestigious school for heroes after all; he would be damned if he started slacking off because of thoughts that came from conversations left unfinished. So, he instead settled for pushing it to later; he had much more important things to do right now.

Entering the password on his phone, he checked the time on the upper right hand corner. 5:30pm, it was a good enough time. He put of the tip of his thumb to his bottom lip pulling downwards slightly to give himself a moment of though. It closed at...8pm? Yeah, most hospitals do, right? The only time he's ever really been in one before this whole mess was...a time period ago he doesn't want to remember. He's thankful that his mind doesn't bombard him with constant thoughts about it like it's doing with this.
