As you walked up the stairs towards the Gryffindor common room you heard someone calling you. You turned around to see Draco, your best friend and crush for the past 6 years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He ran up the stairs towards you and couldn't help but smile at him.

"How come you aren't going to dinner, (y/n)?" He cocked his head at you and you just shrugged, laughing.

"Well, maybe it's the billion books that I have yet to put away? And after that I have to go meet (y/b/n). I'll be down there sooner or later." He rolled his eyes when you mentioned your boyfriend. Draco had never liked him, but the same could go for (y/b/n) to Draco. They were always throwing snide comments towards each other and being the shy person you are, it was hard for you to stop them.

"Have fun with that then," Draco leaned in and kissed your cheek, winking before he set off back down the stairs. You rolled your eyes at their hatred for each other, before continuing to your common room.

You took as long as you could with putting your books away and changing into a comfy pair of thick leggings and tank top. You really weren't looking forward to going and meeting (y/b/n), but it's not like you had much choice. So you made your way down and out of the Gryffindor tower. As you were walking towards the hallway that he told you to meet him at, you saw Draco.

"Hey, isn't the hall the other way?" You smiled at him and rolled your eyes as he playfully shoved past you. Watching him walk away over your shoulder, you waited until he couldn't see you anymore before continuing to your boyfriend.

Once you were at your last turn before, what you assumed would be, another painful night, you stopped and took a few deep breathes. Nothing could prepare you for what happened each time you guys meet in private, but you could try, right?

Then you finally gathered up what little courage you had and walked out into your boyfriends sight. He was leaning against the wall, watching ouot the window on the other side of the hallway. You cleared your throat and gave him a fake smile when he turned to you.

"You're late, (y/n)." His voice was scruffy and had a tinge that you knew meant you were right. Tonight wouldn't be good. "And you're dressed a little skimpy, don't you think?"

"Oh, uhm, I'm sorry. It was hot all day and I ran into Draco on my way to putting my stuff away. I'll try to be quicker next time...." Great, you made him angry. You should've known not to wear a tank top. It shows a lot that neither of you wanted others to see. Bruises, old and knew, that couldn't always be blamed on Quidditch.

"Draco..." You held you breath. Bringing up Draco to (y/b/n) is like bringing up Voldemort to Harry. "That bloody git needs to keep to himself!" He looked back out the window as you narrowed your eyes at (y/b/n).

"Draco just so happens to be my friend! For a very long time, mind you!" Shit, why did you say that. He pushed himself off the wall and rushed towards you. You backed up with each step he took until he grabbed your arm tightly and pulled you towards him. You were only slightly surprised by the alcohol you could smell on his breath

"Watch your tone, (y/n)! Why would someone like Draco want to spend time with a stupid mudblood like you?! Even he is better than that! He should teach you lessons the way I'm about to!" Your eyes widened and you were worried. It felt as if he could smell fear, and you were probably reeking of it right about now.

"Wha-what l-lesson...?" He laughed cruelly at you and pushed you to the floor.

"That you shouldn't try to smart mouth me, you should never be late, and don't bring up that filth around me!" He pulled his wand out of his pocket and yelled 'Crucio!' Everything was painful. This was the second time he had done this to you, the first time was after you cost his a Quidditch match, and you didn't remember it being this painful. You could feel yourself screaming, crying, but it didn't seem to make any noise. It seemed like fire was bursting through you.

Suddenly, it all stopped. You layed there limply on the ground, waiting for (y/b/n) to throw his next curse at you. But then someone picked you up. You flinched when they wrapped their arm under your legs and tried to push away from the arm around your back. You were too tired to fight, or do anything really, so you quickly gave up and just let them carry you. Probably to somewhere else where they could hurt you. Yet, at the same time, it was obvious to you that the person carrying you wasn't your boyfriend.

"(y/n)?" The person carrying you sounded quiet, worried, and familiar. You opened your eyes as much as possible to find Draco's face above yours. You smiled weakly at him, not even bothering to find out how he found you, but happy that he did. And as he opened his mouth to say something, you blacked out.
