You were so happy to be going back to Hogwarts. Not like you usually were, because you spent the summer bored and slightly lonely, but for a more.. serious reason. Heck, it wasn't even because of summer. You were headed back to Hogwarts because of the battle. The Battle of Hogwarts had taken a toll on a lot of people. Loss of people, friends, family. Even some of your favourite people were lost, Professor Lupin, best DADA teacher you had experienced, Fred Weasley, ultimate prankster, brother, and friend. Apparently Professor Snape had been killed as well, which broke your heart. He was your Head of House and Potions teacher, causing you, much like many other Slytherins, to be gravely upset. But most of all, it had taken a school from you.
The large castle, with it's many twists and turns and hidden passage ways, had been ruined. Some parts completely torn to the ground. One of the bridges had been broken by a Hogwarts student, of course with good reason. So, as it was, you and many other students, professors, and parents were heading back, or already there, to help rebuild. Most students who had fought in the war had stayed behind anyways, letting Madam Pomfrey tend to their wounds, but others, such as yourself, had been a bit more injured. Mentally or physically. So two weeks had passed since Death Eaters invaded your school, and you were overjoyed to be going back.
More important than that though, is finding someone you lost. Someone very important to you had left during the battle with their family, refusing to take further part in this war. And you hadn't seen them since. You couldn't be sure if they were going to be there, but you hoped with all your heart.
There was a train going to Hogwarts today and even though you were supposed to stay home for another week, you were heading back. You and you're parents were all going back today, riding the train because they weren't connected to the Floo Network.
Once you made it off the train and into the wreckage of the front gate, you looked around. Everyone was there. George and the rest of the Weasley's, Neville, Harry and Hermione, even though you didn't really get along with them. Blaise and Vincent are standing not too far away from you. You quickly wish a goodbye to your parents before rushing over to them.
"Zabini! Crabbe!" They look at you and Blaise picks you up, spinning you around. When you were back on the ground, you hugged Vincent.
"You're okay? I thought they had killed you?!" Blaise looked so happy and surprised ot see you.
"Oh, no. Bellatrix was beyond pissed though. I mean it's not like I even wanted to be on that side so when I tried saving Neville from her? I thought I was gonna die, too," Blaise smiled and hugged you again.
"Is Draco here?" As you asked, both of their faces instantly softened.
"We haven't seen him. We've been here for about a week. I don't think he was allowed to come back...." Your mood instantly lowered, but you shook it off, confident in your boyfriend and his family.
"Well, I bet he will be. Maybe he just missed the train. Anyways, I have some things to do and people to converse with. See you all later!" You walked away, you're heart dying. Maybe Draco and his parents were let off like you and yours were. You had helped at the battle and given names of Death Eaters. Merlin's beard, were you hoping they did the same.
You slowly approached Ron, Hermione, and Harry. They were all talking and laughing, kind of surprising after their school was destroyed. "Hey, uhm, guys...." They all looked at you. One look at you and their faced fell.
"Hey, (y/n). How are you feeling?" You weakly smiled at Ron.
"I'm fine. Saved Neville though, so it was worth it. I was just wondering..." you averted your gaze to the ground, finding it hard to ask this question, "Snape. Is he still... you know, alive? Or did he really die...?" Hermione sighed sadly, Harry looked at the ground, and Ron gave you a look of despair. That was the only answer you needed. "Oh...."
"You know, (y/n), just because he saved the Wizarding World doesn't mean that it's okay to talk to him." You whirled around, surprised and over joyed at the rude, yet playful voice.
"Draco!" You ran towards him, about two feet really, and jumped into his arms. You kissed his smirking lips, so happy to see him after going two weeks thinking he may not come back. He put you down and you looked over his shoulder at his parents. They both knew and loved you, having worked with your parents. They were smiling at you two, after three years of dating Draco, they had gotten used to the PDA quickly.
"Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy! Oh it is so amazing to see you both as well!" Narcissa walked towards you and hugged you, Lucius just patting your shoulder and smiling.
"Give my parents a nicer greeting than me? Rude." Draco put his arm around your waist and kissed you cheek.
"Fine, next time I'll just ignore you completely." He chuckled at you.
"Oh, there won't be a next time sweetie," Draco stepped in front of you and kissed you, pulling something out of his pocket. You tried to pull away, looking at what he was doing, but he wouldn't let you. Soon enough, he had slipped something cold onto your finger. You finally pushed him away completely and looked at your left hand. A ring? He had put a ring on your finger?
"Draco? What are you-"
"You know I'm not big for speeches," he interrupted, "but will you marry me anyways?"
You looked up at him, shocked. Three years together, two weeks dying inside because their was a chance he was dead, or worse in Azkaban. You nodded, barely even thinking about it. He smiled and kissed you. You could hear Hermione squealing behind you, even if you two weren't friends.
"Finally!" You both pulled away to find Blaise, Vincent, and both yours and Draco's parents smiling at you.
You were going to marry Draco Malfoy.
