"The witness is excused," The judge announced as he pound the gavel three times. "The prosecution can call another witness," he continued.
Mr. Hsu then excused himself as he went back to his seat.
The deputy district attorney, who was Mr. Kim then turned to the audience. "The people call on Registered Nurse Yoo Tae Ha to be the second witness of the prosecution, " He said with authority.
Yoo Tae Ha stood up and went to the witness stand wherein the clerk was waiting for him. "Please raise your right hand," The clerk commanded. He quickly did what he was told while his left hand was placed on a bible. "Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in this case now before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? So help you God," The clerk continued to ask.
Tae Ha replied, "Yes, I do."
With that said, the prosecution then started.
Mr. Kim cleared his throat before he spoke. "Yoo Tae Ha, may we know what's your relationship with the defendant? " He asked questioningly.
Tae Ha immediately answered, "We're not related by blood except from being co-workers in the hospital. I am just a normal nurse worker there. "
Mr. Kim nodded and hummed, putting his thumb and index finger on his chin. "Then, what's your relationship with Kim Taehyung then? " He asked again.
Taehyung looked at Tae Ha. Please say you're my nurse..., he thought on his mind pleadingly but his face remained unbothered.
"I am his specialized nurse. Nothing more, nothing less," Tae Ha answered honestly which made Taehyung let out a long exhalation out of relief. He thought that Tae Ha was going to lie.
The prosecution still went on when Mr. Kim asked Tae Ha again. "From what Mr. Hsu has said earlier that you were the one whom he asked about the biennial experiment, can you confirm this?"
Tae Ha nodded. "Yes. I was the one who told him," he answered.
"If you already knew about the biennial experiment, why didn't you reported this to the police?"
Tae Ha cleared his throat. "I was about to but I was threatened by Dr. Kim. If I'll report everything outside, I'll gonna pay for the consequences myself. I'm afraid to risk my life," he answered honestly, with a hint of fear in his voice.
"Hmm!" Mr. Kim hummed again. "During your work there in the hospital, and you said you are Kim Taehyung's specialized nurse, did you know anything about being him as the new test subject?" he asked.
"Yes," Tae Ha paused as he was thinking of something to say. Words doesn't come to him naturally. "Dr. Kim injected something to him everytime Kim Taehyung refuses to take his medications. I don't know what it is but it made Taehyung calm down and sleep... I also noticed that Ms. Song always came to his room to collect his blood using a syringe," he continued explaining.
Everyone gasped at that statement, even Taehyung's friends and their company who also attended the hearing.
That was horrible!, Bang Sihyuk exclaimed through his mind as he focused himself solely on the hearing.
Mr. Kim however continued his questions. "You said that the defendant has injected something on Kim Taehyung, did you noticed any reactions or effects on him?"
Tae Ha swallowed. "Yes. At first, I thought his hallucinations, sudden palpitations and increased heartbeat were just normal since, you know... he's a mental-ill patient. But, one night when I did a daily check up on him, I found some green marks both on his nape and on his arms which I think is not natural anymore. I tried to connect to Park Jimin since he is the emergency contact of Taehyung but I ended up talking to his friend Jeon Jungkook. When I was about to report it, Dr. Kim stopped and threatened me again," he explained.
That statement made Jungkook nodded. Atleast now he understood what happened at that night. In that faithful night. He felt bad for him though since he literally scolded him harshly.
"The green marks you said, can you confirm this?" Mr. Kim asked.
Tae Ha nodded and presented an envelope containing the pictures he took at that night. "Here are the pictures confirming my statement," he said calmly.
Deputy District Attorney Kim faced the judge once again. "Your honour, I would like to show this documents marked as defendant's exhibit number two and ask that they be admitted into evidence,"
The judge turned his gaze to the defense who were wearing long faces. "Does the defense has any objections?" He asked.
The public defender wanted to object but he doesn't know how. They only have 3% chance of winning the case. It was impossible. "N-no, your honour..." he spat.
The judge then turned his gaze to the people as he said, "The documents will be admitted as People's exhibit number two."he announced.
Namjoon and Jin secretly cheered as they clapped their hands softly, smiling like idiots.
You bitch! You deserve everything you're having now. You don't deserve to live! A man like you should burn and rot in hell!, Jin snarled harshly through his mind as he quirk his lips upward.
Mr. Kim then continued. "How many years did you work on that hospital? And through those years, have you ever encountered the previous test subjects that Mr. Hsu mentioned earlier?" he questioned.
Tae Ha cleared his throat again. "8 years and yes. Although, I just encountered one of those previous test subjects."
"Is this Mr. Kim Jihwan?"
"No," Tae Ha answered infinitesimally.
Mr. Kim looked at him in confusion. "Then, who was he?"
"His name is Hwang Kihyun. A middle-aged person who was the second test subject. The experiment was a failure back then, resulting him to die in pain and grief."
"Aside from him, haven't you encountered the rest of the test subjects?"
"Aside from Kim Taehyung, no," Tae Ha replied with a small smile encrypted on his face.
Mr. Kim turned his gaze to the judge one more time. "No further questions, your honour."
The judge then pounded the gavel once again. "The witness is excused. Does the prosecution has anymore witness?"
Mr. Kim looked at him in great determination. "Yes, your honour," he paused as he looked at the audience.
"The people call on Kim Jihwan to be the third witness of the prosecution."
