KIM JIHWAN stood up and headed himself in the witness stand as Yoo Tae Ha finally excused himself. He was secretly trembling. Not because he's hiding something but because he was extremely nervous. His paranoia was taking over his body again. He was thinking about what if he messes up? What if he can't deliver his testimony thoroughly? What if his tongue curls and messes up his words? What if he suddenly threw up? Those questions kept unanswered.
"Please raise your right hand," the clerk commanded him. He looked at the clerk at first with nervousness in his eyes. He then raised his hand. "Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in this case now before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? So help you God," The clerk continued his words.
Stop trembling! You can do this! They're looking up to you! You can do this. You can do this!, Jihwan said as he kept consoling himself. He literally needed to calm down. If only I don't have a disorder, I wouldn't be nervous like this. Damn this behavior changing...
"Y-yes, I-I do," he answered, stammering at his words. He almost cursed at his answer. As expected, he stuttered. His tongue messes up his words and he didn't want that.
He looked to the Deputy District Attorney, or should he say, Mr. Kim who was putting his thumb and index finger in his chin as he was thinking of something. Probably thinking about how and what to question him.
"So, Mr. Jihwan. What period had you been the test subject of XXXX Mental Hospital?" Mr. Kim immediately questioned the slightly tremling Jihwan who answered quickly in response.
"I-I'm the f-fourth test s-subject..." he said.
Damn! I stammered. Again.
Mr. Kim nodded. "Hmm..." he hummed. "Mr. Hsu said that you were the only one who survived in the experiment. Can you confirm this?" He asked questioningly.
Jihwan furrowed his eyebrows as his first reaction. "N-no. I-I haven't known that I was the fourth test subject until Mr. Hsu told me the details. A-all I have known was that the hospital threw me in a dampsite," he answered
Everyone gasped at his testimony. Truly, that hospital was horrible. How could they throw a patient in a dampsite?
"A dampsite?" Taehyung said, striking an eyebrow. "I never imagined anyone could do that!" He exclaimed softly.
Jimin exhaled who was currently sitting beside him. "I know! That was horrible. They're wickedly evil! All of this evilness is being piled up and they should pay for all of this! I guess, they should not just stay in prison for eternity but they should rot in hell! They deserve to drown in a hot lava, they-" Jungkook cut him.
"Ah hyung? We get it, okay? Stop," Jungkook told him. It was finally his turn to calm down his friend.
The prosecution still continued as Deputy District Attorney Kim questioned Jihwan. "So, you were thrown in a damp site. Do you remember who threw you?"
"As much as I remember, yes. It was faint but I know who she was," Jihwan answered. He secretly cheered for himself that atlast, he finally calmed down and delivered his words throughly. And that was a relief.
"So, can you tell us who she was?" Mr. Kim questioned with obvious confusion written on his face.
"I don't know her name but I can point you who she was," he paused as he searched for the person he was looking for. "That's her!" He exclaimed, pointing at Ms. Song who immediately looked down to hide her face from the public.
"Ahh..." Mr. Kim muttered softly out of realization. "So it was Ms. Song who threw you in a dampsite."
Jihwan quickly nodded. "Yes!"
The public defender suddenly stood up. "Objection, your honour! I have a question to the witness!" He exclaimed loudly.
The judge nodded in response. The public defender then turned to Jihwan.
"Mr. Jihwan, how can you be so sure that it was Ms. Song? You said it yourself that it was just faint. How can we make sure that you're not making up stories yourself?"
Everyone tensed at that question, including Jihwan. That was not a question they were expecting for. That was quite hard and surprising for Jihwan.
Jihwan inhaled, trying to calm himself. "I-I recognized her even though it was faint since she was the one who always withdrew my blood every night like what she always did to Kim Taehyung. And she was the only woman who always visited my room," he answered briefly, confirming that he wasn't making up stories.
The judge cleared his throat. "Does the defense has anymore questions?" He asked, waiting for Public Defender's answer.
"N-no your honour," The public defender responded in defeat as he sat back to his original seat.
The judge turned his gaze to Mr. Kim. "The prosecution may now continue," he announced which made Mr. Kim smiled.
"So, Mr. Jihwan. During your times that you were a test subject back then, what was your illness?"
Jihwan swallowed first beforw he spoke. "I have a Boderline Personality Disorder. It's a mental illness marked by a pattern of ongoing instability in moods, behavior, self-image and functioning--- well, that was the doctor had told me. After I survived from the hospital, I discovered that the dampsite I was in was Busan. It's the place where I lived before. So I went back to my old house. Luckily, it was still there. And starting that day, I swore that I will never go in any mental hospital ever again. To treat my disorder, I always went to a doctor and have my therapy there," he finished explaining.
Mr. Kim nodded once again. "Alright. So, during the times you were there in XXXX Mental Hospital, what did they do to you?" He asked again.
"Ms. Song always injected me of something everytime I wasn't calmed down. But if my behavior switched into a silent one, she would not inject me that something but just withdrew my blood. Everytime she did that, I felt my body was getting weaker and weaker each day since she did that every night," Jihwan paused. "That was all I remember 4 years ago," he continued.
Mr. Kim nodded at that answer then turned to the judge. "No further questions, your honour," he told the judge.
"The witness is excused," the judge announced and with that, Jihwan immediately excused himself and went back to his original seat.
The judge spoke again. "Does the prosecution has anymore witness?" He asked.
"Yes, your honour!" Mr. Kim replied loudly.
The judge pounded his gavel three times. "The prosecution may now call the next witness," he announced as he put the small wooden hammer gently.
Mr. Kim nodded in response. "The people call on Dr. Jackson Wang as the fourth and the last witness of the prosecution!"
