I finish my rounds for the day trying to go through all the events of the day: the nightmare, the girl, and the possibility of war. I have been trying to keep an eye out for the mysterious girl with the multicolored eyes with no luck. The sun is steadily going down over the mountains. I walk through the city heading back towards the castle. Hoping the days events we're all a dream I walk looking at the at all the citizens seeing the happy faces hoping we can protect them.
I wonder if the barbarians would join such a cause as grim as this. They being the type to welcome any challenge. Would we be able to build an army in time? Our armies have been a thing of the past since our parents fought in the last great war. I doubt we have the mentality for a full on war. It's definitely something I hope we can avoid. Then there is the Matter of the spy who could this be and why.
"Sir..." A little girl calls out to me I turn toward her. I see a girl with brown hair brown eyes and wearing a tattered red dress and tan sandals. She smiles at me I walk toward her and stop in front her. "Hello, what can I do for you?" I say to her
"I have a letter for you Sir." She says to me as she hands me a letter. I take it looking at her as I do. She smiles at me. "Well thank you. Who might I ask gave this to you little miss?" I ask "The queen sir." The girl says as I open the letter. The little girl giggles and runs off. I watch her run off and then read the letter:
It is time make your move we are ready.
I reread the letter several times thinking this can't be from Aria. I look the letter over from top to bottom and look around to see if any one was watching or if anything or anyone is out of place. I start to head back to the castle with the letter in hand. I hear a scream from behind me I turn toward the scream and see a man punching a woman I spring to action. I run toward the man "Halt!!!" I yell at him. He turns toward me and draws a sword and swings at me I draw my sword and block him and strike back at him disarming him in the process I knock him to the ground.
He pulls out a knife and tries to stab at me I aim my sword at his throat. Then as if it had a mind of it's own my sword moved away from his throat. I strain to move it back but it refuses to budge. Then I begin to feel like I was in a haze and everything around me began to spin faster and faster until my surroundings had changed I was no longer in the middle of town locked in combat with a man who was attacking a woman, I was in Aria's bed chamber with Aria on the floor taking the place of the man I was fighting, and my sword only inches away from her throat.
Aria looking up at me in sheer terror tears running down her cheeks. I step back and toss my sword on the bed unsure as to what to say or do. Aria sniffles still looking on at me in horror. "Your... majesty...I...didn't...I...Never...I'm...sorry.." I stammer out with my heart beating faster than ever. Aria begins to cry I instinctively walk toward her to comfort her.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!" She screams at me. I freeze in my tracks unsure what to do. The door slams open two guards storm in. "Your majesty what's wrong?" They ask in unison. All Aria can muster is to point at me and put her head down and cry. Valdeen, Rican, Trovely, Vallace and, Mikail come In to the room looking bewildered at the scene.
"What in Heavens name is going on here!?" Valdeen asks all I can do is stammer a reply. "I....almost...." As I speak I notice the small spot of blood on Aria's throat and on my sword. I turn white as a ghost still just reeling from all these events. "ARREST HIM!!!" Vallace cries out and the guards grab my arms and shackle me...
