Hoseok POV

Biting my lip nervously, I sit next to Namjoon in the waiting room as we wait for a doctor to come out and talk to us about Yoongi's condition. I'm beyond worried at this point, using every ounce of strength in me not to just completely break down and freak out.

As if I hadn't been worried enough about him for the last few days now just from the last time I'd seen him...

I have no doubts that this will trace back to Jin one way or another, and it only makes me want to kill the guy even more. It's bad enough that he's abused Yoongi before and is so fucking controlling as it is, but now he's pushed Yoongi so far to the point that he's wound up in the hospital.

"Fucks sake. How long is this gonna take?" I question in frustration, pursing my lips as I roll my eyes.

"Do you want them to rush and not do a good job so that Yoongi doesn't make it through surgery alive, or do you want them to take their good ole time and save his ass?" Namjoon retorts from beside me. I huff, giving him a small glare as I lean back in my seat and cross my arms over my chest. With that comment, the two of us fall silent once more as we lose ourselves in thought.

"He's gonna be okay, Hoseok. Yoongi's survived Jin before. And while Jin's tough, Yoongi's tougher. It's how he got out alive the first time and it's how he'll get out this time. He's just going to need a lot of support when he gets out of it this time. More than what he had last time. More support. More comfort. Praise and security. He'll be okay, but he'll need a lot of help to get through the remnants of everything that's gone on since, quite honestly, since you came into his life." Namjoon speaks up again after a few minutes, his voice softer and gentler this time as he speaks. I sigh quietly, instead wrapping my arms around myself as I look over at him.

"I'm willing to give Yoongi everything he needs and more, Namjoon. I'm just not sure that he's going to need me. You know him really well and he really does rely on you. He trusts you and relies on you, and you take really good care of him. Meanwhile, I've already fucked up a few times now with him." I say quietly, lowering my head solemnly.

"Hoseok, you made Yoongi extremely happy. Those first couple days? I'd never seen him so happy. And, honestly, he seemed just as lost and nearly as broken when he came home that night after finding you at the bar, as he was after his breakup with Jin. You have no idea how crushed he was when he found out that you'd left completely and that you'd called off the collaboration with him after Jin decided to make his shitty appearance too. I'm not gonna leave Yoongi's side, he's my best friend and he's like a brother to me, even if we've had sex and given each other blowjobs before. But I really think he needs you, and I think you're the right person for him. I'll be there to help you as well as him. There's a lot of small tricks in taking care of Yoongi and in being around him in general. He's difficult, but not impossible. You just can't give up on him, and you'll be okay with him, and the two of you will make it out of all of this together." Namjoon counters in a gentle tone, surprising me.

I bite my lip, humming softly in acknowledgement to his response, still very much trying to process his confidence in me and in my relationship with Yoongi even if it's currently nonexistent. It makes my heart swell that he has that much faith in me, knowing just a week before, he'd been yelling at me and scolding me for my stupidity.

"Thank you, Namjoon. You have no idea how much that means to me." I whisper softly, staring blankly at the floor in front of us. Though, we're both caught off guard when a figure suddenly appears in the doorway of the waiting room. Snapping my head up to take a look in hopefulness, I jump up when I realize that it is indeed the doctor.

"Here for... Min Yoongi?" The man asks in a gentle tone as he looks over to us. We quickly race over to him, not wanting to waste a single second and see our friend as soon as absolute possible.

"Your friend is very lucky. He lost a lot of blood and he's fairly malnourished, as well as sleep deprived. We believe he must've passed out whilst driving, most likely a combination of sleep deprivation and malnutrition. Though, he sustained an immense amount of bruising for the accident he'd been in, bruises that don't all necessarily make sense, as well as a good handful of scratches. He did make it through surgery well, and he's now resting. I'd be more than happy to show you both the way to his room. However, I have to ask, would either of you know the reasoning for how he might have so many bruises and cuts?"
