💫

A lot changed that day.

I learned that in a matter of a split second, the moment I turned to walk away from beating Dante in the sparring match, they both saw a flash of dark light. It came from the sky, striking me like a bolt of lightning, yet it left me in a crystallized state instead of electrocuting me. They tried everything in their power to break me from the stasis, but nothing they did worked.

It was between Grandpa, Uncle Kev, and Tresor, that they decided to make his presence known to the world around us. Those residing in Dante's estate were taken aback, unable to understand and comprehend that there is magic in the world. Tresor showed them of what he could do, making them believers to the true nature...though his demonic heritage was not revealed.

It was also made known about my magical affinity, Dante apparently going around to everyone with the 'I told you so' attitude...that I am different, strange, and dangerous.

Tresor broke down after he attempted to free me several times...

...it broke me when they informed me of what transpired after my stasis, especially because I couldn't do the simplest of thing any longer...

...affection.

Well, that's not true, because even after how I must be careful now, it's something I have to always be aware of. It eats at me, afraid of the pain that comes with his curse, unsure of how it can even be broken.

Tresor said the only way to remove it is to have the one who cast it nullify it. The curse will not break if Aeon dies; a failsafe to allow the curse to run its course and not allow the victim mercy without it being given.

There's only one way it can be removed without the caster. The only way I'd be able to remove it...

...is death.

I will never have skin to skin contact ever again...

...my mates? This just brings me to the point of breaking each time I think about it. I don't know what my future holds now, the complication of myself not something I'd want anyone to be burdened with.

Small Theban writing in a triangular arrangement sits at the base of my neck, the one reprieve Tresor was able to give me.

It isn't much, but at least it might just be enough to finish what we started. Nothing is guaranteed; ever...allowing myself to believe that outsmarting Aeon is simple due to his sleeping nature at the present moment...

...Aeon forced me into check.

The game isn't over yet though.

I sit at the edge of my bed, my arms resting on my thighs as I glance to the window. The light floods the room, breathing out slowly as I'd only changed moments earlier for the new day. After what happened yesterday...I couldn't stand to have anyone near me. Today, much to my surprise, Dante had his coven members fashion me clothing that will cover most everything.

Tresor and Grandpa explained to everyone yesterday about my...condition.

Rising to my feet, I stand in tight leather pants, knee-high boots zipped up over. My long sleeve leather top hooks down into the inner top of my pants, not allowing for it to slip upward. The leather continues upward to the base of my spine, shielding my neck all around. Leather gloves conceal my hands, reaching to just below my elbows. A fleece half-mask rests below my chin, able to pull it upward to conceal the lower half of my face.

The clothing provides the most coverage without jeopardizing my vision and hearing, needing these senses as my touch is now gone.

Aside from combat training that I will continue to endure, I'm more so going to need to lean on my magic, strengthening and training its capacity. Tresor said he would help broaden my horizons to spells that I never adapted...though it'll give me more options in the long run come winter solstice.
