Prologue

Frozen forever in time, never aging, never changing. A fate such as that should never be wished upon a person. And yet, was what was decided for me. I was forced to watch the ever-moving time go past as everyone I knew forgot of my existence. I can recall how many years have passed, my mind has become too hazy. I can remember who gave me this fate. I can barely remember my own name now. Isn't that tragic?

Soon, as time wore on, I became known as 'The Stone Lady'. I can only imagine why, for I don't know what I look like. I was always watching a stream of what in front of me, that was all I could really see.

But, despite all the years of stolen days and forgotten memories, I can't help but hope. Hope that one day, my life will be restored by one who hasn't forgotten me or my past. I will wait for that day when I am released from my eternal slumber and brought into the new world.

Clouds cover the night sky, obscuring the stars that once shone brightly. The street lights have gone out, and every window and door on the street is closed. The houses' occupants sound asleep inside.

The sound of heavy footfalls come to my attention through the crisp silence. The movement gets closer and closer until right behind me. It stops, and the world goes silent once more. I wait, unable to move.

Soon, from behind me, a hand reaches out. It moves to my chest where it places itself above my heart. A mutter of words comes from an unseen mouth, the voice low and raspy, as if tortured with speech for days. There is a flash of light from the hand before my vision goes black. Now all I can hear is the sound of moving water as it plaguing my ears.
