Growing up, Lina had been diagnosed with panic episodes and severe anxiety; Generalized and Social. Panic and Anxiety attacks were frequent for her. Whether it be a simple math test or a choir concert. Everything haunted her, that was until she turned.

For the first few years of her journey through vampirism, she shut her emotions off. It was like a light switch in the back of her very being. All the little nagging voices of self doubt and fear  vanished into thin air. This resulted in Katherine refusing to allow her near Katlyn, in fear she would hurt her. Once Katlyn turned 3, Lina finally came to her senses and returned home.

What she felt in this very moment, was what she had been running from for years. The fear and worry- the panic. The internal battle against her fight or flight response was a regular thing for her but this, this was terrifying. Her mother offered her up to trade along with guns, for Glenn's safety.

Lina sat silently and watched the other four finish formulating a plan. It was as if the world around her was a distant memory that she was trying to remember. Muffled voice and blurred figures. Her mind was racing with the possibilities of what could go wrong- what WOULD go wrong. She knew she could take care of herself but what about Glenn? What if she messed up and something happened to him? Her and her mother would be shunned from this new group and left alone. Someone could die!

It seemed like an eternity, lost in her own thoughts when her mother startled he rout of the dark abyss that was her mind. "Hey, Are you ready?" Katherine asked her daughter, not even a hint of worry on her delicate facial features.

"Am I ever ready to be traded like a goat?" Lina grumbled as she lifted the duffel bag of guns onto her shoulder. "Is she at least pretty? She better be if i'm gonna be your dowry."

Katherine laughed at her daughter's sarcastic remarks. "I still don't know where you inherited the dramatics from."

"That would be from Damon and Klaus, my darling best friends."

"Of course."

Their conversation was cut short when Rick signaled that it was time to leave. A sense of dread overwhelmed the young brunette. Her stomach was in knots, her palms were sweaty. She had the strong feeling that she was going to fuck this up.

A little ways before the enemies compound, Rick stopped Lina. "It's time." This caused the girl to stop and glare at him.

"Do we have to go this far?"

"Sorry, Lina."

Reluctantly, Lina let the man tie her hands behind her back and duct tape her mouth shut. This was far too kinky for her liking. When Rick finished, they began to continue on.  The closer the compound got,  the harder it was for Lina to concentrate on reality. The sense of dread only grew, the fear and worry taking over. Her hands began to shake behind her causing her to dig her nails into her palms in an attempt to keep calm.

The men around her began to negotiate but Lina paid no attention. She was too busy trying to keep from having an anxiety attack. She didn't want to be left with these people. She didn't want to be the reason that things went wrong. Scaring her out of her thoughts, the girl was shoved forward only to be brought inside the compound. Glenn was safe.

Inside the building was a community, the majority being elderly people. Once Lina's  arms were untied, She removed the duct tape from her mouth. "Is this why you accepted me?" Lina turned and asked the leader. "You needed a doctor?"

The Hispanic man nodded, "Ours died on a supply run to the nearby hospital."

After a moment of silence the heretic was given a bag filled with medical supplies and was sent to work. As Lina gave people their medication or helped take care of a wound, she would slip the occasional patient blood, mainly those who really needed it. The entire time Lina worked, a few cute but annoying Chihuahuas trailed behind her curiously. They occasionally let out a yap or two.

Only a few more hours til Lina could slip away.....would they notice if she stole one of their dogs?

As the hours passed, Lina made small talk with her patients. Getting to know them as she helped take care of them. Her opportunity was closing in as the sun began to set. And with the last person going to bed, The brunette slipped out the closet window and into the night.
