Nightfall arrived fairly quickly the next day as the group walked down the desolate highway. It was like a scene from a horror movie. There were empty vehicles everywhere. Some with their doors or trunks open, contents strewn about. It was obvious that the inhabitants had fled in a panic.  The night sky brought a sense of eerie comfort. The stars were tainted by the surroundings.

Barely a mile away from Rick's camp was when it started. The screams of panic and terror. This sent the returning group into a frenzy as they rushed to the scene. Lina flashed ahead of everyone and went straight to work. A few feet from her stood a woman with long brunette hair, her arms protectively wrapped around the young boy as she tried to shield him from the massacre. Lina immediately began to take down the walkers that approached them, using her  sword.  Gun shots echoed in the air around her, her ears ringing. Slice by slice, she decapitated walkers with ease.

By the end of the attack, She was covered in the blood of the dead. Though this really didn't faze her- aside from the smell. The young Petrova turned to the woman, panting. "Are you okay?" She wheezed, stepping forward. "Is your boy okay?"

The woman nodded and held her son closer, even though it seemed impossible to do so. "He's fine." She stated. "I'm Lori, and this is Carl. Thank you for helping us."

"It was my pleasure." Lina brushed it off with a smile. "I'm Nikolina."

The women were interrupted by a very distraught Rick rushing over to embrace his family. Lina watched with a smile. It was such a sweet thing to watch, seeing a family be together in a world like this. Not many got the luxury of having their family. Something Lina knew all too well.

Katherine appeared behind her daughter and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer. "I'm glad you're okay." She whispered to the girl then gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"I love you."

"I love you too, любовта ми."

A few hours later as dawn approached, Katherine and Lina stood off to the side as they watched everything go down. People were packing and saying their good byes. The man they later came to know as Morales, was taking his family and leaving. They were heading to Alabama to find their remaining family. The rest of them were heading to the CDC. That idea of course did not go over well with Shane.

To Lina, he seemed like a real dick. Anyone could see that he was in love with Lori. He was trying to establish dominance over Rick, which obviously was not working.

As everyone began to pile into the cars for the long journey ahead, Lina shoved her stuff into the back of Daryl's grey 1973 Ford pickup truck. Much to Daryl's dismay. He wasn't particularly happy with the arrangements. Katherine was offered a spot in the R.V so that left Lina with the grumpy but cute redneck.

The first hour of the journey was silent and awkward. Lina didn't like awkward silence, not one bit. The girl looked over to Daryl and attempted to start a conversation. "So...nice weather we're having."

Daryl gave the girl his grumpy side glare and proceeded to ignore her sad attempts at conversing. "Look, I'm trying to be nice. We are going to be stuck with each other for a while so you might as well get used to me." She griped in annoyance.

The man knew she made a fair point so he replied with a simple, "Fine."

"I feel like we got off on the wrong foot when we met." Lina smiled as she watched the blurred scenery through the window of the truck. "I see someone attractive and i can't not flirt..... but i also  know that  i'm annoying so i would like to start over."

Daryl was silent for a moment, as if debating whether or not he should humor the awkward woman beside him. "Whatever...Daryl, Daryl Dixon."

"Pleasure to meet ya, Daryl. I'm Nikolina Petrova, but if you call me Nikolina  i will not hesitate to skin you alive."

The sudden threat caught Daryl  by surprise, causing him to let out a small chuckle. "Alright, Nikolina."

Lina glared at him and proceeded to pout." You are lucky that you are cute. If you were anyone else i would have throat punched you."

"So, what happened to your group?" Daryl asked the girl curiously. He remembered back in Atlanta that Katherine had mention the men being gone. He felt a bit guilty once he seen her  shoulders slump in defeat. "You don' hav'ta answer if you don't want to."

"No, it's fine." Lina immediately replied. She didn't want to admit that she was terrified that something bad had happened to them. "My mother and I were with a few other guys. I've known them my entire life."

"I was with my mother at the start of this but we got separated by a hoard of walkers. Not to long after that I ran into an old friend. We were together for a month or two before we arrived at a gas station on the outskirts of Atlanta, that's where we found his brother, my mom and my best friends."

Out of the corner of his eye, Daryl noticed the smile that grew on her face as she talked about the men. She clearly missed them and loved them dearly. The man nodded in her direction to affirm that he was in fact listening.

"Kol and Niklaus are brothers from a large family. 8 total siblings and parents who suck literal ass. Damon and Stefan are brothers as well. Stefan has epic hero hair and honestly reminds me of a much broodier version of Edward Cullen from Twilight. " Before she could continue, a whisper interrupted her.

"Does he sparkle?"

Daryl honestly thought she would not hear him, but her laughter stated other wise. The poor girl was bent over and holding her stomach from how hard she was laughing. "H-How did you know about the sparkling?"

"My brothers booty call was watchin' the movie one morning." He shrugged casually, as if it was no big deal.

This only caused her to laugh harder. "You totally watched it, didn't you?"

"No."

The conversation was put to a halt when Daryl had to slam his foot on the breaks. The line of vehicles had come to a stop. It seemed the R.V had broken down. When Lina stepped out of the truck and proceeded to check the R.V with Dale, something seemed off. This wasn't just a malfunction. The radiator  hose didn't just give out- no it was demolished. The entire engine surged with magical energy. "Son of a bitch."
