A/N: I'll have Emiko in my story. But she'll be a bad guy. I don't know you all will like that idea or not, but just kindly bare with it. I'll have Traci too.
You can refer to this chapter as ---- FIRST DAY Pt. 1
Kori's POV :
It was 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Today's supposed to be Rachel's first day at school. I felt so happy for her. But she still wasn't awake. Usually she's all up by herself by 5:00 a.m., meditating with intense concentration. She did not like being interrupted during her 'daily regime '. She never missed meditation, as if, it's as important as food and water. I wondered what could be the reason for her being late. She might have been overthinking about school last night .
School! I didn't want her to be late on the very first day. I rushed to her room to wake her up.
Rachel's POV :
I shot my eyes wide open when I felt something grabbing my arms and shouting. I immediately sat up straight. Thank God! It was Kori. Had I not given myself a second or two to find out who it was, I would have engulfed that person in my dark energy and everything would go wrong!
"Rachel, wake up. Don't want you to be late on the first day." I heard Kori say. School!!! Holy Azar! I have to get ready as soon as possible. "Ah, yes. I'll be all set before you know it." I mumbled as she got up to leave my room, nodding. I ran quickly to the bathroom to run myself through a quick shower and get my teeth brushed so hard that my gums nearly started to bleed. I got out of the bathroom almost tripping and made my way towards my cupboard. What to wear? I did not want to draw much attention. I started rummaging through the cupboard to find something that'll suit my purpose. A dark blue top, a black hoodie and a dark grey pants. Yes that'll do fine. The reason I have enough clothes is that, almost every weekend Kori drags me to the malls and her favorite fashion shop, to buy us stuff and she says its a great way to make myself happy and socialize.Ugh! I quickly changed and headed to the living room where I found Kori sitting on the couch with the car keys in her hand. She looked up smiling ear to ear, as if she is the one going to the school. We headed to the garage where the small car stood.
"I'm quite happy for your new start. Its time you overcome the past troubles and move on! I'm sure your parents would be happy to see you going to school." Kori said with a watery smile as she started the car. That reminded me of my mother. Arella. Her beautiful face. I could feel her love for me, even if staying in Azarath meant not showing much emotions. I killed her, my own mother! Stop thinking, Raven! Move on! With that thought I kept up my emotionless face and simply nodded to Kori. After a few minutes we were in front of a massive building.
Gotham Academy. We got off the car and Kori lead the way inside. She took me to the headmaster's office. " Welcome Miss Kori," said a terrifying looking old man, who's supposed to the headmaster. "Greetings, Master Hammer!" Kori softly replied. "So this is supposed to be the new student." Headmaster said looking at me. "Yes. I have faith she can do her best and match your expectations." "Very well then. Name again?" "Rachel Roth" I said. "Welcome to Gotham Academy, Rachel Roth. You can receive your books and schedule at the library. And also head to the office right beside the library to receive your locker information and P.E. clothes of your size." "Thank you, Master" I softly replied and left the office alongside Kori. "I guess you'll have a great time here," Kori pulled me into a soft hug and left.
I stood alone there for a moment, staring at the large exquisite hallways. Then I quietly made my way towards the library. I could feel a few people staring at me, but thanks to Azar, not all were staring. I collected my books and other necessary stuff from the library and the mentioned office. I headed to the area where the lockers are supposed to be. There was so much commotion of students chatting around. I finally found my locker. I looked to the paper provided for help, but still couldn't open it after several attempts. Oh Azar! I can't even deal with a stupid locker.
"Hey there, need help?" a female voice rang in my ear. I turned quickly to see a girl, same height as me with brown eyes and hair, smiling at me. "Um... I guess so," I smiled weakly. "Okay. Here's how you do it." She took the paper from my hand and turned towards the locker. My locker was open in less than a minute. "Thank you so much!" I said. "Don't say thanks. Helping people is kinda something I love to do. I'm Traci, by the way." She extended her hand for a handshake, which I gently took, "I'm Rachel." "So what's your first class?" "Let me check the schedule.... Chemistry." "Woah! Same here. I'll save you a seat by the time you arrange your locker." "That's really kind of you!" To that, she smiled and was beginning to head towards the class, when a girl suddenly stopped her. She had an evil grin on her face. She spoke out, "Well, well, well. We have a new student. And as for you Traci, you help her and think you become popular." Traci made a stern face and said, " Trust me Emiko, I have better things to do than becoming a topic of discussion in the Academy, unlike you, who takes the name of the rich brat to dig fame and get things done. Plus, that's not a way to meet a new person!" I didn't know what to react to this, so I stayed quiet. That 'Emiko' girl spoke again, "I don't need to know her name or anything. She is insignificant to me as of now. On the other hand, she'll know me soon, considering my popularity." With that Emiko sped off.
Traci turned towards me and put a hand on my shoulder, "Don't worry. Sometimes you gotta deal with some shitty people. Just stay strong and face them." I nodded my head in understanding and shyly said, "I can see that. Who's she by the way? And you mentioned 'rich brat'? What's all of these?" Traci stayed silent for a moment at the questions. She then said, "We can talk about this on lunch. For now, we have to attend Chemistry class. Take the left corridor from here and head to the second room on the right-hand side. I'll be there." With that she left with a smile. I started to arrange my locker hastily with thoughts running in my mind. How my high school life gonna be? First I found a good friend in Traci. The next moment an evil girl steps in bragging about God knows what! I expect everything will go smooth for me....especially after the rough past in Hell! Whatever the situation maybe I have to stay calm and do my best not to expose my dark powers!
I finished arranging my locker and headed towards the Chemistry class. When I entered, I saw students already occupying the seats. Soon I saw Traci waving to me and indicating an empty seat beside her. Suddenly the teacher spoke up, "You are a new student, I suppose?" "Yes sir." "I'm Dr. Langstrom, your chemistry teacher. Please introduce yourself to the class." I felt nervous with people staring at me. "I am Rachel Roth. It's nice to be here." I managed to say after receiving encouraging looks from Traci. "Okay, Miss Roth. Have your seat." I nodded and went to sit beside Traci.
And I'm starting to live a high school life!
