So he wants to talk, heh? Let's talk then. Honestly, I'm done with his childish behavior.
Why has he changed so drastically? Why has my life changed so drastically?
What happened right after he came back from Delhi? What's with him? I feel like I don't know him. This Mohith is a stranger to me. I thought I was getting to know him, but I feel like I don't know a single bit about him.

I know what this "we need to talk" mean. Finally, he grew some balls to tell me, I hope. Whatever it is that's going on now, I don't see it working anyways.
I'll just leave it to time. We could solve our problem like how we have a countless times before, or this time everything could end for good.
Whatever is to come, I'm ready. Whatever might happen, I believe it'll be the best for the both of us. I'll not regret this, not a single bit.
I'm tired of being the only one who's trying. I want to stop now.

I went to his home. I can hear Mohith's mom's voice. This is really rare. Usually, she's out at this time. Why's she here?

I knocked on the door.
She opened the door and let me in, after giving me a familiar welcoming smile.

I... Don't see him.

"Hi aunty, is Mohith home?" I ask her once I got in.
"No, I'd given him some chores to complete, he's out at the moment. He'll be back soon. Why don't you wait here?" She says nicely.

She's still clueless about our relationship. We haven't told his parents or mine, because he asked me not to.
To her, I'm just one of his bunch of friends.
We casually chat. She's a nice lady. She can be really nice, but she can be ruthless at times, if the situation demands.

He came in, face flushed red because of the hot sun outside. I feel bad for him. I wish I could offer him some water.

"What's this Mohith? You forgot to bring milk? This was such an easy thing, you couldn't even do this? Useless fellow. I'm done with this moron! Go and bring milk NOW! I need it NOW!" She's totally annoyed.

This indeed was an easy chore. He could not do it properly, but I feel like using such harsh words was not necessary. Poor Mohith. As I've observed, she's always rash towards him. She's low key mean to him. Does she despise him just because he's not like others? Now that's uncalled for.

I can feel that he's annoyed. I turn to him, he's grinding his teeth.

"What are you looking at? Cat got your tongue? Idiot. Go NOW." She's not letting him off the hook easily.

He turns to me. "Hey, do you want to go with me?" He says.
"Yes, sure." I reply.

"Why her? It's hot outside. You go alone." She says.

Oh, no! I've to go out now, or we'll not be able to talk. I need to think of something.

"No, I'll come with you. I need to buy something for myself. The shop's near here anyways. Let's go together." I say and look at his mom, low-key scared.

She's silent. She bought my lie, I guess.
I get up and we go out. We buy the goddamn milk, we come back.

"I'll wait here, you go give it and come back." I say. He agreed and went to lift.

He came back in a few minutes.

"Here you go! I saw this at a shop, I thought you'd like this!" I gave him a pen, which is made up of beautifully carved wooden body. He likes these things.
"Oh ya, thanks... I guess." He threw it in his pockets as if it didn't matter a single bit.
"We really, REALLY need to talk. Where do we go?" He asks.
"I don't know, wherever you wanna go." I simply reply.
"How about lake?" He asks.
"Sure, why not?" I reply.

We make our way to lake.
Lake was closed.
I feel like everything that's happening now is the the universe's last helpless try to stop something, that's inevitable.
Though we can't go in, there are benches outside, where we can sit. We decided to sit on one of those.
