Feelings

It has been around six months since the war against Hybern. Rhys is doing his best to get everything in order and Cassian still has to go visit some families to tell them their Illyrian family members have died.

Azriel had nothing to do that afternoon. He was sitting on the patio in the house of wind. Ever since the war he has been feeling like he didn't have anything to do.

As Azriel sat there, behind him in the living room Mor was having a conversation with the Archeron sisters.

"Are you guys hungry?" Azriel heard Mor say.
"Dinner will be soon." Feyre answered.

Rhys landed on the patio on which Azriel was warming up his wings.

The shadow singer stood up immediately.
"Is everything sorted out?" He asked.
"Almost there. We are planning one more meeting with Kallias." His high lord answered.

The two brothers walked into the room just as Elain got up to help Nuala and Cerridwen with dinner.

Ever since the war Azriel had uncertain feelings for Elain. Out of the three sisters to him she seemed the most classically beautiful.

Cassian returned just as the sun started to set.
"All the families know about their losses." He announced.

They were all seated around the table eating dinner. Azriel has to admit that Elain was getting extremely good at cooking.

"So when are we going to attend this meeting with Kallias?" Amren asked. The spymaster noted that her tone of voice was extremely annoyed. That was never a good sign.

"In two days." Rhys answered. "Do I have to go and meet with those morons?" Amren asked. Judging by the way she said it she was being serious.
Mor gave her a warning look. She and Kallias's wife and mate Viviane were good friends.

"Yes, we would be happy if you joined us on this." Rhys said.
"Well then I guess your life will be quite depressing." The high lords second stated coldly.

The rest of dinner was spent listening to Amren and Rhys bickering and fighting over wether Amren will go or not.

Later when they all went into the living room, Azriel took his usual seat on the window sill. While the others were stuck up in their own conversations, the shadow singer looked out of the window at the stars.

He was wondering about all the confusing things right now. He was thinking about his feelings. He was thinking about his childhood. He wondered why he felt so absent. So distant from reality.
