"So, how was school?" My Uncle questions as I get into the passenger seat of the very luxury car he was driving to collect me in. I was unsure why Happy hadn't come to pick me up to make my departure less extravagant, but no, Iron Man turned up in an Audi R8, bright orange and causing an even more noticeable exit.

"It was interesting," I respond as I sit in and pull the seatbelt over my body (according to Happy, Tony could be a reckless driver), "I mean it wasn't even 8 o'clock and everyone knew I was your niece."

"I can't believe they found out so fast," He sighs as we pull away, a few of the guys at school who I still didn't know the names of admiring the car as we did so.

"So what did you actually talk to Peter about?" I questioned as we continued to drive towards home.

"You know, the typical 'look after you', 'don't let you get into trouble'," I open my mouth to interrupt him but he cuts me off, "No, let me talk. I know you say 'you don't need protection' and all that, but listen to me - you were attacked yesterday and it was Peter who saved you. And with my high fears of it involving HYDRA, it's important you have someone around as backup when I'm not there-"

"But I don't need protecting," I say back, ignoring my Uncle's comments, "It was my first day in New York, I wasn't prepared for an attack the second I arrived. But now I know it's the social norm to be almost kidnapped when you walk around New York, I'll be more on the lookout."

"I just want to protect you-" Uncle Tony comments, completely ignoring my sarcastic joke, though I did see him smile weakly from the side as I said it.

"And I don't need pampering all the time," I respond. We stop at some traffic lights that are on red and I look at my Uncle who looks back at me, "I really do love you Uncle Tony, but Steve is right - you have a lot to learn about having a teenager to look after."

"Yes, and he also told me I need to learn how to control and protect my teenagers no matter what, and using Peter is my way of doing that," My Uncle says, using my own argument against me with a smirk proudly set on his face yet again.

"Touché."

We arrive back at the base with ease. Compared to my dad's driving, Tony's really wasn't much different. He broke a speed limit here and there, but he said he thought they were wrong anyway so continued. I had no balls to tell him otherwise.

Besides, wasn't like he couldn't afford to pay a speeding ticket every now and then.

"Friday, is there any incoming news?" Uncle Tony queries aloud as we enter the facility, removing his jacket and throwing it at an arm chair as he walked his way over to where his stash of whiskey was kept.

"There is no news for you Mr Stark, though you do have a meeting in forty-five minutes," Friday responds back flatly.

"Shit, I forgot about that," Uncle Tony murmured as he finished pouring his whiskey. He quickly knocked it back before putting the dirty glass down on the unit and once again pulling on his disregarded jacket, "Listen, you probably don't want to come-"

"After last night? I'll stay here," I responded as Uncle Tony nodded.

"Exactly. I don't know how long this meeting will be so do your homework, watch a movie or something and there should be food in the fridge and if there isn't..." he pulls out his wallet and hands me $20 note, "Order some. Just do whatever you teenagers do when the adult leaves you alone for a while."

"Sure thing," I smile as I watch my Uncle go to leave the room. I look down at the money in my hand and smirk, "You know you aren't getting this 20 back even if I don't order a pizza?"
