I sat in the car and drove through the streets of New York, biting the skin on my thumb anxiously as I followed the sat-navs directions to Brooklyn Bridge due to my unfamiliarity of locations within New York yet. As I drove, I felt my heart palpitate and my knuckles turn white as I held the steering wheel tightly. Many thoughts continued to race through my head, ranging from the earlier kidnapping, mine and my Uncle's current relationship after our heated argument as well as mine and Peter's relationship because of the argument. Minutes before my Uncle stormed into the room and ruined everything, I had said yes to being Peter's girlfriend, but I was unsure of whether Peter would still want me to be his girlfriend now.

And that was what I desperately needed to talk to him about.

I pull up at the Brooklyn Bridge and climb out the car, grabbing the denim jacket I had grabbed from the facilities lobby on the way to the garage, aware that New York at night, especially over the Brooklyn Bridge, would be absolutely freezing. I was still wearing my same blue dress, though it was now paired with white converse in contrast to my earlier heels as I paced across the bridge. I attempt to ring Peter again, but my call goes straight to voicemail, so I was unsure if he was deliberately ignoring me or not.

The further I walked across the bridge, I felt my head become heavier and thump through my skull painfully, a reminder of my earlier injury as it felt like someone was whacking my head with a mallet. Nevertheless, I ignored it, not wanting to distract myself with the pain whirlwind going on in my head, but rather finding Peter.

In the end, I resorted to calling out his name, and despite earning a few questionable looks from people passing me, I ignored them. They had no idea what I was going through currently, but I guessed they most likely took me to be drunk from my outfit, calling of some random name and stumbling walking as the thumping in my head progressed, making me feel dizzy.

Eventually, I stop walking, taking a break to lean on the railings of the bridge. I could see cars whizzing across the bridge below and I closed my eyes and breathed out as a cooling breeze hit me and blew my hair messily. My phone was vibrating in my pocket so I pull it out, but as I see it's my Uncle, I put it back and sigh, wishing it had been Peter instead. I just wanted to know if he was ok, both from the view of our relationship now as well as after having my Uncle pretty much yell at him.

I felt awful as I buried my head into my crossed arms, wishing the whole thing hadn't happened, and if it had, in the safety of Peter's flat rather than at the facility, the way the evening should have gone. Because this version truly sucked.

"Hey, are you ok?" I jump and look next to me to see a couple I had never seen before, but who looked genuinely concerned.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks," I smile at them to try and supress my emotions, but the women simply puts a hand on my shoulder and offers me a warm smile.

"We saw you almost stumble over earlier, so wanted to offer you a taxi home, free of charge? You look like you need it," she politely smiles, though her comment causes me to laugh nervously. Did I really look that god-damn awful?

Well with scars covering my face and a pounding, dizzying headache, I guessed I did.

"I'm alright, but thank you," I respond with equal politeness. At least this reminded me that there were some good people in this world, and as I watched them walk away, I turned back to my view and tried to relax.

"You know, you really shouldn't be here," I look to my right to see a figure approach me. At first I tense as it stood in the shadows at first, but as it moves forward, I see the red and blue spandex of the suit appear and Peter stood in front of me suited as Spiderman. I breathe out aloud, relived it was him and not another person coming after me, but his contractible eyes were narrow as he looked at me, "What are you even doing here anyway?"
