The house was massive. The flashing lights from a DJ booth bounced off of the walls quickly and there were many already tipsy teenagers in our year jumping around singing along to the music. Already I could tell that these sorts of parties were not my ideal environment, but I knew I had to get through it. Tonight was also about the three of us having fun, and across the room, I spotted MJ at the buffet snacking on some laid out crisps and pizza.
"Hey! Glad you could make it," Flash approached me, Peter and Ned, though focused his comment directly at me with a toothy smile and gleam in is eyes, "I like your dress-"
"Yeah yeah, whatever Flash," I retort as I turn my back to him and focus on my friends, Ned who looked with a slightly opened mouth and Peter looking at Flash with irritation.
"Come on Katie, you don't really want to spend the night with these losers-"
"God, can you just leave us alone for gods sake, it's like you're obsessed with me," I snap as I glare at him out of anger, "And don't insult my friends, ok?"
Putting his hands up to show sarcastic defeat, Flash walked away and left the three of us alone as I look towards Ned and Peter who were looking at me, "Is everything ok?-"
"How do you even have the confidence to talk to him like that, especially at his own party?" Ned questions with the shake of his head, "He could have easily kicked you out then-"
"Yeah, but he's not going to is he?" I summarise, "He's too obsessed over me to get into is thick skull that he is a total creep as well as too ignorant to know that I have no intentions to like him at all."
Peter nods out of agreement and Ned laughs as MJ walks over to us, "I can't believe you dorks are even at this party."
"You're here too," Ned reminds MJ with a sarcastic tone as she shrugs and walks away to god knows where in this building.
We party for quite a bit, making use of the free food at the buffet and dancing a bit on the dance floor. During a break where we stood at the side, I look at Peter who was laughing at something Ned had said and I lightly nudge him. He looks at me with concern, "Are you ok?" he shouts over the music now playing High Hopes by Panic at the Disco.
"I need some fresh air, I'll be back in a few minutes," I yell back at him and once he nods in response, I am quick to push my way out of the house, drink still in hand as I get to the front garden of his house. I walk halfway down the path so the music wasn't as loud and stand there, looking up and at the plain navy sky above. I watched the flashing lights of what was most likely a plane flying above us before taking another sip of my drink and getting out my phone to scroll through social media as the cold night air hits me and makes me feel better.
I suddenly hear rough talking voices near the road and I pause to look down and see two men walking. They looked stern, in full black clothes and instantly I tense up, knowing full well that the last time I saw guys in similar outfits, I was almost kidnapped. I begin to walk up back to the house, trying not to catch their attention, however they must have already known of my presence as I feel someone grab my wrist and pull me back down the driveway, "What the hell are you doing?!" I exclaim as I try to pull out of their grip, in the end dropping my phone and cup onto the grass in order to try and get out of their grasp.
"Our friends failed to do this last time, so now we're here to try again," The voice says roughly as they continue to pull me with a strong grip which I was incapable to pull myself out of. I tried to call out for help, but no one could hear me because of the stupid loud music now playing It wasn't me by Shaggy, a complete contrast to the last song.
"They can't hear you," the man hisses in my ear as he pulls me harder, causing me to once again tense up and try harder to pull out of their grip, screaming out now as we leave the driveway of Flash's house. I may absolutely hate Flash, but at that point, his home was the only safe place I knew at that moment.
Looking over my shoulder, I spot a van with the doors being opened by a second guy who had ran ahead to make sure my kidnap was successful. This made me pull even harder, my wrist now utterly sprained and hurting from pure agony, but I'd rather that than go wherever they were attempting to take me to.
"They haven't even noticed you're gone," the guy laughs as he gets me closer to the van, "They probably don't even care that you're missing-"
He is suddenly cut off and I am thrown forward roughly, causing my head to smash against the edge of the curb agonisingly, causing my vision to become extremely blurry instantly and a loud ringing to scream through my ears. Slowly and painfully, I turn my entire body so I'm on my back to see one man in full black lying in the middle of the pavement not moving, and a second man fighting a fast moving blob of red and blue. I try to focus on it, but my head ended up becoming sore and painful so I fall back and lie with my eyes closed, trying to get rid of the pain, my head half on and off the curb as I can hear my breathe become rapidly quicker and my chest tighten-
"Katie?" I barely hear the voice talking to me, as if I am listening from underwater. I manage to open my heavy eyes to see a blue and red blob which slowly became more recognisable as Peter's Spiderman mask, "Are you ok?"
I sit up, and feel the sudden poring of blood down the side of my face. It was cold and I lift my hand to touch it, "What happened? What's going on?"
"Some guys tried to take you," I began to recognise Peter's voice as it becomes less underwater sounding, but rather as if I was being brought back into the world, "Luckily I came out and saw you were gone and found you before it was too late."
I smile and thank Peter formally as Spiderman as I saw a few people appear, one of which being Ned who pushed forward to come and help me out as a friend, "Oh my god Katie!" he hands me my phone which had a large-ish crack on its screen but I ignored it as Ned helped pull me up and into a tight hug. I ignored the pain in my ribs and the bruises and cuts on my wrist from the mans tight grip as I hug him back.
"I need to take you back to Mr Stark," I hear Peter tell me and I pull out of Ned's hug and nod in agreement. Ned gives me a quick hug before letting me walk away with Peter, the group of people outside settling down as the pair of us walk down the street together to get away from the party.
"I am so sorry about this whole thing, Peter," I tell him when we are far enough away from the party that no one could hear us and the bleeding has mostly stopped, "I am honestly the most stupid human being ever-"
"You really aren't," Peter tells me. We stop in the middle of the pavement and he pulls me into a tight hug that I return. Even through his suit, Peter felt warm and I relaxed into the hug before Peter pulled back, "Give me your phone," he tells me. I give him my phone and he put it into one of the hidden pockets in his suit before taking my hands and put one around his neck and one under his left arm, a look of confusion spreading across my face which he notices and laughs, "Now hold on."
"What do you mean hold on?" I question as I look up at Peter who was using his ring finger to tap at his web shooter on his left wrist, "What are you doing?"
"Getting you back to Mr Stark quicker," he tells me. I suddenly feel myself being pulled up into the air and I scream out and grip Peter tighter as we swing through the city. My body tensed and I pushed my face into his neck out of utter fear, "I'm not going to drop you, you know? You can relax!" he shouts against the wind.
"I know! But I'm holding so much trust in you right now so I'm petrified to look at where we are. You literary have my life in your hands, Parker!"
"And I promise you I won't let you go!" he tells me, and I feel a smile form on my face and my heart flutter.
