It was now 6:00 and I was just lying on my bed thinking about how perfect everything had been. I had been smiling ever since Dylan and I hugged. I just wanted to hug him forever. I was just daydreaming when suddenly my phone rang, I quickly jumped up from my bed and grabbed my phone, hoping it was Dylan.

I answered the phone. “Hello, this is Jess speaking!”

“Uh hi Jess, it’s Dylan.” I was so happy knowing he called me and he sounded so nervous which was so cute!

“Hey Dylan! I’m glad you called!”

“Yeah me too, I had a really good day today, I’m glad we met.”

“So am I,” I blushed.

“So, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out tonight. There is a carnival that is on every year and its heaps of fun so I was wondering if you wanted to come with me?”

“Of course, I would love to!” I started jumping around my room, I was the happiest girl alive!

“Sweet, so text me your address and I’ll pick you up at 7:30!”

“Will do! See you then?”

“See you then.” I hung up the phone and ran downstairs to tell mum and dad.

They were more than happy to let me go so I texted Dylan the address and started to get ready. I put on my Nirvana crop top, high waisted shorts and doc martins, I then lightly curled my hair then put on a hat and sunglasses (check external link). I looked at the clock it was 7:25 so I went downstairs and waited with mum and dad.

“Are you excited?!” My mum asked.

“Very! I can’t believe this is actually happening!” As I was about to continue the door bell rang, I stood up and rushed to the door and opened it.

“Whoa” He said, “You look amazing!”

“Aw thank you Dylan, I gotta say you look pretty good yourself!” He actually looked perfect, he was wearing a checkered button up shirt with black shorts and vans. And he’s hair was messy but perfect, I don’t know how I got so lucky.

“So are you ready to go?” He asked.

“Of course!” I replied, “Mum, dad, I’m leaving!”

I shut the door behind us and we left. The carnival wasn’t too far away so we decided to walk.

“So,” Dylan said. “I’ve noticed you have a bit of an accent where abouts are you from?”

“Believe it or not, I actually just moved here from Australia yesterday!” I answered whilst giggling.

“Yesterday!?” He was shocked.

“Yep!” I laughed, “I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy it here but I’m glad I came.” I looked up at Dylan and smiled.

“I’m glad you did to.” He smiled back. “And I see you’re wearing a nirvana shirt! They are one of my favourite bands!”

“No way! Me too! Well, apart from Green Day and The Offspring of course!” I cannot believe how perfect this boy is.

“You’re kidding! They are like my favourite bands as well! You are perfect, I swear.” I could feel myself starting to blush again but he looked awkward.

“Sorry did I just make things super weird?” He asked.

“No not at all, I think you’re perfect too.”
