Hey guys!
And here's my last Mariska birthday one shot of the evening! This one is smuffy - fluff and smut at the start, but more fluff towards the end, especially when Peter gives his wife a beautiful surprise!
Enjoy xoxo

Joyful Birthdays [OneShot]
Most people would view getting older as a downfall. Harder to get out of bed, less flexibility, the constant need to get to bed at a reasonable time and get ten hours sleep just to function the next day, hair that decided to turn gray and the eyesight which starts to twist and blur when trying to read something.
But for Mariska, she just saw it as another beautiful thing in life. After facing tragedy during her younger years, getting older was a blessing. Sure her vision wasn't the same as it was twenty years ago and maybe she couldn't run up and down the street as much as she used to, but what mattered was that she was alive. She was alive and had another year with her family, another year to get wiser, another year to enjoy her job.
She was just so grateful to see yet another beautiful year.
She felt hands tapping her arm and she groaned slightly, flicking her eyes open. The clock on the bedside table read '7:00am', and she wondered who was waking her up at this hour when she'd managed to twist some arms and get a late start for the day. She rolled over onto her back and blinked before focusing her gaze properly, only to see that all three of her children had climbed onto the bed and were now hovering over her with cheesy smiles on their faces.
"Hi guys," she rubbed her hands over her face, giving them a smile; "Mm...what's up?"
The three siblings exchanged a glance before bursting into song; "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you; happy birthday dear Mama, happy birthday to you."
She smiled to herself as she pushed herself to sit up against the pillows on the bed. Amaya handed her a glittery bag with presents and three envelopes in them, while Andrew handed her a steaming mug of coffee and August handed over the tray of breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs on toast and some fruit salad. Mariska couldn't stop the tears from forming in her eyes at the sweet gesture; her kids were definitely three beautiful angels with the purest souls, and she loved them more than words could ever express.
"You three are my greatest gift, thank you guys," she pressed kisses to their cheeks as they all leaned over, then asked; "Where's your dad?"
"He's right here."
She looked up at the sound of the deep voice, and a smile broke out onto her face as her husband walked in with a bunch of brightly colored balloons, including two '5' shaped balloons. She rolled her eyes and smirked, eyeing him as he gave her a cheesy smile as well.
"Birthday balloons for the birthday girl." He winked as he came around to her. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her lips before brushing some of her hair away from her face.
"Thanks guys, all of you," she eyed the gift bag then looked at the kids; "Should I open my gift before you guys go to school or?"
"Yes because it's from all three of us." Andrew replied. Mariska let out a laugh as she put her coffee and breakfast aside, before she then began rummaging through the bag. She pulled a few brightly colored sun dresses, to which Amaya explained that they were for when they all went away on vacation again, then she pulled out a smaller, rectangular shaped velvet box. Mariska's eyes went wide and she looked up at her kids, who all laughed as they took in the shocked expression on her face.
