Riley and I boarded the plan and sat down getting comfortable for the two and half hour flight from JFK to Minneapolis.

"So he was the reason for your dramatic action's one year ago?" Riley queered.

"What dramatic action's?" I exasperated.

"Ummm" Riley lifted her eyebrow. "Your hair, the constant want to go out and hook up, also the constant watching of Disney movies were you sat and cried."

"That last one wasn't abnormal." I defended, crossing my arms of my chest.

"I knew you weren't acting like this because of what James did to you." She smirked.

"That was a warranted reason to act like how i did. I drove to New York to find my boyfriend in bed with another woman." I whisper shouted, carefully watching to see if the other passengers were listening.

"Yesssss,..... true, but you never loved him, hell I don't think you even liked him." She reasoned back.  Unfortunately, Riley was correct, I didn't care that much about James. Hell, I expected it. Sure it hurt that he wanted to cheat on me. Actions like that bring up so many questions in a girl's mind. Am i worthy? Whats wrong with me? Which really was why I acted out. And by acted out I meant having a one night stand with Killian.

The hair and drinking and hook ups and crying was all of a result of Killian.

"You loved my hair." I stated.

"Sure, babe." Riley rolled her eyes. "What do I say? If your going through something, stay away from your hair."

I rolled my own eyes. "Well, I love my hair."

"Don't get me wrong it was awesome, but so not you."

"Whatever, it only lasted a few months

"Whatever, it only lasted a few months. I like my hair now." I argued.

"Yeah blonde suits you way better than brown." Riley nodded. "So what are you gonna do about the wedding."

"I've decided on a plan. Stay far away from him, don't acknowledge him, pretend I don't know him, etc, etc." I listed on my fingers.

"That is a terrible idea." She pulled a magazine out of the back of her bag and leaned back in her chair. "At least he might not notice you at first because of your difference in hair."

I huffed and slouched in my seat reaching for my phone and earbuds.

I could deal with this. It was just a on night stand. Something that happens all the time.

Except you haven't been able to forget about this guy, and you haven't been with anyone since because every guy sucks in comparison. My brain retorted.

It wasn't just that I had become to like him in the one night, but my feelings had just increased as I had watched him on the TV. Seeing him and watching him on the field move in a way that reminds me of the night continued to confirm my feelings.

The plane finally set down at Minneapolis with Riley and I making our quick exit from the plane to pick up our bags. When we finally got to exit into the waiting area of the airport I saw my family straight away.

My mother stood front and centre holding two signs with 'MIA' and 'RILEY' written in bold letters. I ran over to her and dropped my bags so I could wrap my arms around her.

"We have missed you so much, Mia" my mother exclaims pushing me back to look at me properly. My green eyes started back at me with slightly more wrinkles, her brown hair was cut short in a style she had kept since I was young. My father was who I most reflected sharing his nose and face shape.

"Mia!" A deep voice exclaimed and I turned to find my brothers waiting behind my parents. I quickly stepped into their arms allowing them to lift me from ground and squish me between them.

I laughed happily to see them all, pushing away from my brothers tight grip.

I turned and grabbed Riley's arm and brought her into the circle we had made. "This is Riley. Riley, my mum, Linda." I pointed to her.

"It is so nice to meet you finally Riley." My mum quickly pulled her into a hug.

"And these are my brothers, Simon," I pointed to my oldest brother by three years. "Lincoln" the second oldest in the family. "And finally, Kane the baby boy." Kane was a year younger than me.

A chorus of 'Hi's and 'Hey's and 'nice to meet you's came from my brothers towards Riley.

"Okay let's go, boy's get there bags." My mum quickly linked arms with us girls and led us towards the car. "I have missed female companion. Seriously your brothers are driving me up the walls."

Simon had moved home after finishing college in New York to become a commerce person. To be honest I have no clue what he does and don't quite understand what he is saying when talks about work. He had got an apartment in Minneapolis and was close to my mother.

Lincoln had finished  college this year and was living at home trying to find a job. Though really I think he was just trying to decide what job he actually wanted to do.

Kane was still in college like me, but was a year behind me in junior year. He had decided to go to University of Minnesota which was again close to mum and easy enough for him to drop in to see her.
