Killian soon returned to take me to his car, I had changed into some of Rebecca's clothes from her room. She and Noah had decided to get stay at a hotel room together leading up to the wedding. The night before the wedding,  Rebecca and all the bridesmaids would share a few rooms together, to ensure the tradition of keeping the bride away from the groom was kept. As well this meant the main bridal party would be close to the wedding ceremony and reception since they were due to take place in the hotel.

The elevator ride had started off completely awkward. A thousand points of conversation had swirled through my mind but none of them seemed to be casual enough. Luckily, two floors later a group of people entered the elevator making the poisonous silence more bearable.

Killian stood still as a statue next to me, his face was straight and emotionless the few times a quickly peeked at him. He hadn't said anything except when he came to get me from the room. Even then it was a simple questioning word of "Ready?"

I was replying our conversation/argument/discussion that had occurred in Rebecca and Noah's room. It was maybe a potentially weird conversation for strangers but nothing about it would tick him off, I hope. Maybe he's angry about his night being ruined by having to look after me? Or mad he didn't get to sleep in?

The elevator dinged answering our arrival to the carpark below the hotel. Killian kindly gestured me to go first, but I had to wait for him to guide us to his black SUV. He unlocked the car and I made my way to the passenger side, but before I could open the door a masculine hand sneaked in front of me. Killian's other arm also circled around my waist helping me up into the high car.

"Thank you," I softly whispered settling into my seat and watching him close the door behind me with a simple dip of his head at me. His eyes still appeared closed off, lacking any emotions of either happiness or anger.

Killian walked around and hopped into the driver's seat next to me. Turning on the car he pulled out of the space and started to head for the exit.

I sat staring at him. I was so confused. He hadn't said a single word.

Probably feeling my eyes on him, his head turned towards me, before quickly returning to the path ahead.

"Tinker, seatbelt." He simply stated.

"Oh." I quickly grabbed my belt and fastened it.

"I know generally where you live but I'm gonna need directions, babe."

My stomach fluttered at his use of 'babe'. Stupid girl hormones.

"Right. Just take a right and follow the signs for the freeway. I'll tell you when to exit." My voice was quiet, but in the silent car, I doubt he had any trouble hearing me.

I settled into my seat and turned to the road ahead.

I lasted all of 10 seconds.

"Have I annoyed you or something?" I whipped my head around to face him and pushed forward on my seat, straining the belt across me.

"What?" His voice was low and masculine. It was sexy and made me tingle in places that should not be aroused at this moment.

"You haven't said a word to me?" I explained, "And I'm all confused about you know...."

"About what? Finish that sentence, Tinker." His eyes narrowed on me slightly and then quickly turned back to the road. His bossiness was not helping me relax.

"How you know me?" I sighed

He let out a dry laugh. "What are you talking about? Of course, I know who you are."

"But you said--"

He cut me off. "We went through this last night. I told you I was a friend of the groom, explaining to you why I was there. I then tried to ask why you were there but you jumped to conclusions." His eyes were stormy with annoyance when he turned to me. "How the fuck could I ever forget you." His voice softened on his last words.

"We had sex on that first drunken night," He looked at me again.

"We didn't have sex on the first night." He stated.

"What?"

'You were too drunk, we simply slept and in the morning was when we did..." he trailed off, seeing my discomfort.

"And then we hung out for the next two days or so and that was that. I also had different hair back then. So slightly different." I continued, ignoring his statement. I had always thought we had had sex when we first got to his hotel room, the fact that he had respected me just makes this whole thing worse. He is being too perfect. It should be a more common occurrence, but most of the guys I had been with didn't give a shit about me.

"We didn't hang out. We had sex. A lot." He smirked at me but his face quickly turned serious. "And then you left."

"Only because you wanted me to," I shouted back.

"No, I didn't." His focus was still on the road but I could see his jaw ticking and his becoming stern. "Shit, Tinker. I went out for dinner and came back and you were gone. No note. Nothing."

"Turn off here," I said instead of replying.

Telling the truth seemed stupid and dumb now. I had left because my own mind had caught up to me. Killian had received this text, I'm guessing from a past or current fling, about wanting to meet up. I shouldn't have looked at his phone, but when it got the texted I had suspiciously glanced over. The words the girl used in it made me more than curious to read the rest.

But further, it made question it, question what we were doing. The realisation came suddenly that I had been a fool in the last few days. I never did this, sleeping with a stranger, but when I had tried to leave the next morning, he had told me to stay. The way he acted in those days I had started to think that this could mean more. The text just made me realise how stupid I was being. Killian was hoping to be drafted by the end of the year, he was already seen as a legend in his own university, and was clearly a player. So why the hell would he ever want to take things further with me?

I was being naive, I thought it was better to leave him and move on. I'd only just been hurt by trusting that slimy boyfriend of mine. But he had just been using me too.

"I think its best we forget about that. I'm sorry for leaving like that, but we have the wedding to focus on."

Killian simply nodded and grunted in answer.

I directed the rest of the way home and thanked him for the lift, leaving quickly from the car.
