Chapter Five - The Music Club

September 2nd, 2016

I woke up to the obnoxious ringing sound of my Batman alarm clock.

I slammed it, full force, shutting it up. The Sun shone through my blinds, causing me to squint my eyes. Suddenly, I hear a groan that didn't come out of my mouth.

I looked aside to see the source of the noise find a scruffy, blue-haired girl waking up next to me, as memories from yesterday's incident rushed into my mind...

'I just brought a stranger into my bed.'

  Sure, I know we go to the same school and stuff, but we JUST MET.

"Mornin', Peridot." The girl greeted, yawning and stretching her arms out.

"Good morning." I stood up from the bed, making my way to the closet to pick out an outft. "Get up, we'll be late for school."

"I doooon't wannaaaaaaa" Lapis moaned, rolling around on my bed. "What would I even wear?"

"I had the feeling you might use that argument against me, so I put your clothes in the drier last night." I pointed out.

"Ughhhh"

"You can take a shower in my bathroom, I have some spare towels in there."

Lapis got up and stopped in front of the door to face me "Aren't you gonna shower? Your hair will get all scruffy."

"I did so last night, besides, my hair is naturally scruffy." I joked, raising my finger.

"What a superpower." Lapis deadpanned, closing the bathroom door behind her.

I was about to get changed when I heard her scream "Is it the blue towel or the green towel?"

"The blue towel, clod!"

As I finished changing, I grabbed another oversized hoodie from my collection, this time a navy blue one, and layed it down on the bed.

I set it down on the couch as I took some waffles out of the fridge. I then retrieved Lapis' now dry clothes from the drier and put them upstairs next to the hoodie.

Soon enough, breakfast was ready. I called for Lapis and I immediatley heard her footsteps on the stairs.

"Hungry, much?" I teased. "I hope you like waffles."

I set a plate on the table as her eyes lit up.

We finished having breakfast, I put the plates in the sink, brushed my teeth and made my way to the door.

"Ready to go?" I asked Lapis.

"Yeah." Lapis added, as she through on my oversized hoodie. "Can't risk having people see this." She gestured to her bandaged arm.

And so, we made our way to our second day of school.

The two of us walked in through the school gates, seeing Pearl and Amethyst sitting on a bench, the lavender-blond scanned us with her eyes, "Wearing same outfit twice, Lapis? Nice, I geuss you like my way of living."

"Amethyst, that is disgusting." Pearl bluntly and sourly added.

"What? It's eco friendly." The short girl shrugged, making her companion flinch in disgust.

  "I'm sure there must be some logical explanation." I heard Sapphire's voice from behind me. Again, she was accompanied of her girlfriend.

"Where were you yesterday, Lapis? You need to come by the club today. We're thinking of actually starting the band and stuff, you know, playing songs."
