Your brushed a piece of hair from your face and knocked on Adrien's door. A soft thump was heard as you guessed he had either set something down, closed something, or bumped/moved something. You stared at his door and smiled at how he designed his name on the door with a deep, almost black, green covered the A, I, and N. You, of course, knew why since you had walked into the alley at probably a very lucky time. (Why? Because the Author was lazy and wanted to make everything easier and harder.)
"No more autographs!" Adrien groaned from inside his room, clearly oblivious to who was actually behind his baby blue door. You giggled and knocked again, just to annoy the blond. The doorknob moved slightly as you heard a second voice in the room, which you immediately recognized as Plagg's voice. "Adrien, open the door, or I will shove your pillow full of Camembert and feathers."
"Hello?" A yawn escaped Adrien's mouth as he opened the door. You giggled and waved as you watched Adrien straighten his hair when he noticed it was you, his absolute best friend, almost more. You nearly kissed once, but that would have been awkward from the fact that you were dating {Random Guy/Girl's name}. "{Your Nickname}? What brings you here?"
You smiled at his sleepy look and messy hair that replicated Chat Noir's hair-style. "Hello to you to, Agreste. I am here, 1. Because you literally have a dressing you ten feet down from mine, and 2. I need to talk to you about something." You smirked and stated as if it were the obvious thing ever.
He nodded and yawned again, moving aside to let you walk in where you sat on his bed. He walked over and sat next to you while leaning on the wall, his eyes half closed. I frowned and went say something, yet he already knew what I was going to say so he waved his hands and rubbed the sleep away from his emerald eyes.
"Adrien... You know you're one of the closest people in my life, and that I would tell you everything, right?" Adrien stared at you a split second before nodding. He was utterly confused about what you were saying, so he had a million thoughts and questions running through his brain. Did he do something wrong? Were you ending the friendship? Did he know that he loved you?
"Of course, {Your Name}," Adrien said quietly, hoping you didn't hear his voice crack slightly from worry building in his chest and he waited for you to continue.
"Good, because I have some really large news!" You chirped, fiddling with something on or in your hand that he hadn't noticed before probably because of you trying to hide the small object from his vision. "So... I... Uh... {Random Guy/Girl's name} proposed to me... And erm... We were talking about the wedding and I decided that I wanted to stray from tradition and choose the best man."
Adrien stared at your, fakely smiling. His heart shattered into so many pieces, it would put the symbol for infinite to shame. Sure, Adrien was happy that you were getting married and all because he was your best friend, but what broke him was that you weren't marrying him. Adrien loved you with every breath he took and every movement he made. This hurt so much more than when you started dating {Random Guy/Girl's Name}. He thought that the relationship would end fairly fast and then he would confess his love. When it didn't, Adrien stayed in his room for a whole week and claimed he was across the sea doing a photoshoot.
"That's great {Your Name}!" Adrien smiled, which made you frown on the inside. You had slightly wished he wouldn't be so happy. See, sure you loved {Random Guy/Girl's Name} but you still liked Adrien a lot. You didn't completely want to marry your current boyfriend/girlfriend because you had still hoped that Adrien would like you. Guess you were wrong... "But why are you and who are you choosing for the best man?"
