Those 3 words that Melody claim as her own did not process in her head. The last drop of her own tears crashed onto the ground. She pulled away from Jonah, looking up at him with a shock written all over her face. He a smooth voice, with a hint of raspiness in it. Melody dwindled at the thought, her eyes looking at Jonah square in the face.

"Do you trust me?" Melody ask again, hopefully getting an answer this time.

When do you know when you fully trust someone, when do you know when you fully let the veil over your skin fall off, revealing everything that you've been hiding.

Jonah looked down, his mouth refusing to open once more. She leaned a bit closer to him, repeating the question softer. His sapphire-emerald eyes met hers, his lips finally parting but the longing words never came out. It's like he never said anything just a few seconds before. Jonah knew he couldn't tell her anything about why he was quiet, or everything he's been hiding. But he knew that one day, he would have to tell, even if his life depended on it.

"Jonah" Melody breathed, realising how close their faces were. He didn't reply once again, blinking several times before he looked down, biting his lip. Jonah wanted to just grab her face and smash his lips on hers, feeling the warm sensation erupt from his body. It took everything to not just ask her out...because he knew he couldn't. He knew if he did, he will only end up hurting her harder than ever. They just stared at each other for a while, both not knowing what the hell to do.

That's it. I can't take it anymore. Jonah thought, throwing all the consequences that would happen away. If the outcome was worth it, he was willing to take the consequences. Jonah leant forward, gently holding her cheek lightly. He held her waist tightly with his other hand, wanting the only girl he would sacrifice his life to be in his arms.

Melody on the other hand, was completely freaking out. She wanted to do this for some reason. She wanted to do this with the boy she had crashed into, both starting off on the wrong foot. He was a mystery to her. Melody was the one who closed her eyes and leaned even closer till the space left between their lips were onto a few millimetres apart. Jonah's breath hit Melody's lips, making her mind go crazy. Just when Melody was about to close the gap, Jonah stopped, his eyes widening and his head spinning with all the outcomes after this.

He's always watching.

Jonah abruptly pulled away, mentally cursing himself for not kissing her right there and then. He panicked and ran out to the only place he felt safe, delving right into the velvet curtain, dotted with stars. Melody stumbled back a bit. Pain, hurt, sorrow, confusion, regret invading her muddled mind. She felt nothing but unwanted at this very moment, after people told her countless times, she felt it stronger than ever before.

Finally, the tears she had caged up for too long, had released. The waterfalls kept coming, every tear symbolising every emotion she was feeling, from pain to anger, she felt everything. She knew perfectly well where Jonah had went, but decided against going after him, knowing that she, herself, can not face him at this current moment. Whilst Melody hid away into the comfort of her shared dorm, Jonah found peace in the simpler things.

The moon that some claim to be made out of cheese, contrasting the atramentous midnight skies. The stars that could possibly be glistening diamonds, scattered randomly. The endless pool of all different hues of black, that fall over the endless horizon. Jonah couldnt trust one single person, not a single soul in this world. He trusted the stars and the constellations that fall over him every night. They witnessed his sorrows and pain, all the heartbreaks and depression.

The stars dont break promises, they witness them and remember them until one day, that shining ball of light, fades into pure darkness. He could spend his days counting stars and wishing upon each and every one of them, but sadly, life has it's ways of making him go through despicable things that only the person himself, would understand. Luckily, he had found his new star, Melody, but this particular star, he had pushed away over and over again, until that day that is soon to come, she breaks and fades, like every other star, into pure darkness

"Jonah fucking Marais why do you pull me in then push me away." Melody cried into her soaking pillow. From this one experience, her self esteem lowered an incredible ton, enough to make her doubt every action and every word she said or did. She locked herself away from all the knives, bullets, spears shooting at her, but also locked herself away from all the love and happiness that people tried to give her. Because she knew, that escaping was her one and only option.

You can only escape for a certain length of time until you reach a fork in the road where escape, is no longer an option.
