The first thing they asked me was where was the last place she went. I hesitated before I said bathroom, because I was afraid that there was a reason for her disappearance. I forgot to tell them about the water, so when they opened the door I heard a surprised gasp from the Constable. When I went inside the water was running down the stairs. I must have left the tap running when I went in. I just turned around and went back out the door. About an hour later they came back out, their faces too solemn to read.
They said she wasn't coming back, that she was gone.
That she was dead.
