There was a taxi service that ran through town, and I had a couple quid in my bag. That should get me to town. I phoned up the company, and they said it would cost £1.50 to get to town. In the taxi, I tried to think of reasons Rose would have runaway. I don't think she was having any problems at home. Although maybe it was the opposite. Maybe she ran away to get something.
Nothing came to mind. But there was that boy, the boy she started dating two months ago. They were talking about their future. 1 child, living in a flat in London.
I could get the train to London, then go to the registry office to find out if she had moved in. I found £20 in my bag, so I used that to get me into the centre of London.
The registry office was obvious, so I just walked straight in. It was fairly empty, apart from a lady enquiring about taxes. There was a man behind a computer. I asked him if he knew where Rose Hunter is living. I told him she was my sister, and I was visiting. He told me her address, and which bus to get.I got to her tiny little house, and looked in through the window.
She was sitting with him.
