She was laying down this time, grunting and screaming still. I didn't understand. She had the baby, and that was it. Unless, unless.

She grabbed hold of my hand again, tighter and tighter still. This one took 2 days more. Luckily James had gone to visit his parents, and wouldn't be back for a week. When she was holding the last one, I sat down, and hugged her. She was tired, so tired that she fell asleep quickly.
I left her in peace, and went to bed.
