Chapter 16

****Noah's POV****

I woke up and went to my window and looked out to the sun rising. We won the game last night but it wasn't as fun since Mia wasn't there, and not going to lie it was awkward with Nicole.

I went over to my bed and opened up my MacBook and seen I had a message on click-stars form Alexa.

Noah,
Can you call me when you get this? I have somethings I need to talk to you about regarding Mia. I would like to set up a time to meet with you in person.

She left her phone number and I instantly dialed her number to call.

"Hello?" She answered

"Hey it's Noah." I responded

"Hey Noah, I guess you just my message."

"Yes, is everything ok with Mia?" I asked kinda nervous to ask.

She took a deep breath.

"Can we meet at the beach and talk in person?" She asked

"Yeah I can meet you right now if you like."
I responded.

"Absolutely. I'll be there in 10 mins." She said.

We hung up the phone and I threw on a shirt and shorts. Brushed my Teeth and headed downstairs and out to my Jeep.

I drove to the beach to see Alexa getting out of her car.
I parked and got out of the car

"Let's go have a seat."
Alexa waved for me to follow her.

We sat down and I instantly wasted no time "Is Mia ok?!"

She looks at me and says "Mia will be ok, but she's not really ok right now..Noah Mia's heart stopped yesterday at some point. She tried to commit suicide yesterday, and almost didn't make it. Nicole and her friends got to be too much for her. She overdosed on sleeping pills and is in the hospital. She'll be going to the teen psych ward tomorrow pending she's ok physically. There's some other things, but she said she would finish the rest."

I sat there not knowing what to say or think.

"Oh my..." I looked out towards the water and I could feel tears fall down my face.

I wiped them off and Alexa put her hand on my shoulder

"I know, this hurts a lot."
She says

"Can I go see her? Before she goes to the psych ward?" I asked hoping she would say yes.

"I'm honestly not sure Noah, but her dad did say I could come see her today. Maybe you could come along with me?" She responded

"Alexa I have to tell you something. Mia doesn't know this.." I said taking a deep breath .

"Yea?"
She looks at me making eye contact

"When Mia started school here last year, her first day of school here when I helped her with her schedule. She told me in the letter about that day, and she said when we made eye contact she knew there was something different about me, the thing is there was something I knew was different about her as well...this week has been so insane of his stuff has happened and how fast and I can't even explain. My heart is broke because I left Nicole. But the thing is I love Mia, it's her and I believe it's always been her. Being around her this week and actually hanging out with her one on one showed me even more how much I really care about her..I tried to ignore the feelings I had because I was seeing Nicole. But the good in her is amazing, and I'm so lucky to know her."

Alexa smiled.

"She never knew any of that. She was uncertain of how you ever felt, and I think she really thought you didn't notice or anything." She said.

"I did and especially this week. It's scary I come close to not being able to tell her I love her too."
I said.

"Why don't we go see her?" Alexa said.

"Ok." I smiled.

"I can actually drive us, if you like and we can come here to get your car once we are done."

"Ok." Alexa smiled.

We drove to Mercy hospital and got parked.

We began to walk into the hospital and Alexa speaks up and says "I don't know what she'll be like today, she seemed ok yesterday some but it's hard to say what she'll be like today."

"Ok, I'm not going to judge her." I smiled.

We got up to floor 4 and we began to walk down the hallway.

"Hey Mr. Tanner." Alexa called out to a gentleman standing with a doctor.

"Hey Alexa." He smiled

"This is Noah." As she introduced us to one another.

"Good to meet you, you can just call me Michael. Alexa knows better." He smiled and sorta chuckled as he reached out to shake my hand.

"How is Mia?" I spoke up without thinking.

"I have to ask, are you the Noah that's dating Nicole? The one that caused Mia to end up here?" The doctor asked.

"I'm Alex by the way." He shook my hand.

"I was dating Nicole, but I broke up with her Thursday evening. What she was doing to Mia was too much."
I began to explain to him to conversation with Mr. Porter and how I suspicioned somethings but couldn't get Mia to tell me or talk about it.  

I looked at Mr. Tanner
"Mr. Tanner...I care about your daughter, and I want to be with her when she's ready. I'll wait for her, she's been the one and always has been."

"Well, lets get Mia well and better first..I'll let her explain what she wants to tell." Alex smiled.

"Can I Please see her?" I asked.

Michael and Alex looked at each other like they was trying to read each other's minds and the they both smiled at each other.

"Yeah, that would be fine." Michael said.

"Holler if you need anything, I'll be doing rounds." Alex said to Michael.

Michael opened the door And Alexa followed him and I followed behind. There was a young guy sitting next to her at her bed side. Mia was talking with.

About when I got close to her bed Mia looked up at me with a calm peaceful smile.

"Noah?"
