Chapter 9

****Noah's POV****

I drove home regretting not hanging with her after school today. Truth is that Nicole and I had got in a fight because I told her I was re-thinking our relationship with each other. She got mad and smacked me in the face, blaming Mia for the way I'm feeling. We've been Together for over a year and it's just getting worse with her, I like her but the more I think about it I don't actually love her.
I pulled into my driveway and walked inside, "what happened to your face?" My mom asked.

"Nicole happened." I responded with my head down and looked back up to her.

"Hunny..(she takes a deep breath) you don't deserve any of this, I've told you this...it's not going to get any better with her." She frowned.

"Yeah, I think there's better out there." I smiled feeling hopeful.

"Exactly." She hugged me

"I'm actually going to walk to the beach if that's cool and kinda hangout." I asked.

"Absolutely hunny." She smiled.

I ran upstairs and changed into my swim-trunks and put on a tank top and got my flip flops and headed to the beach. I got to the beach to see Nicole there with Lheanna and Madison. I even seen Mia with Alexa, Steven, and Darin sitting in a little circle. Mia was playing on a beautiful white guitar, and from the looks of it they was all enjoying themselves.
"I wish I could hear what she was playing." I thought to myself.

"Hey babe." Nicole intercepted my train of thought.

I walked over towards them trying to keep my mind of Mia and the whole situation. Kyle, Greg, And Steve was also hanging out.

"Hey babe." I smiled scratching the back of my head.

"Soo what's up with Mia?" Greg piped up and asked.

"What do you mean?" I ask trying to play it cool.

"Nicole tells us she's been trying to take you from her, and that's she's been a-little too friendly." He responded.

"Noo, noo, noo." I shook my head. "She's absolutely not like that. I threw my hands in the air.  Nicole is pissed because we ran into each other, and then we've sorta talked off and on since then. To top it all off, As you all know Coach Megan paired us together since she's the lightest and we're about the same size. Nicole and I got into it today because I'm really re-thinking our relationship with each other, and how this isn't fun or happy for me anymore."
I spoke the truth.

Nicole's mouth dropped and her eyes got wider.

"Damn bro." Greg said.

"That brace face looser, just doesn't know what she's got coming...especially because Noah is questioning our relationship." Nicole said hateful following her facial expression.

"We should go over and see what she's playing so we can mock her for it later." Lheanna spoke up.

"Guys let's just leave her alone." I spoke up.

"Nah let's go see." Madison spoke up.

We all walked over to where Mia and her friends was sitting. Mia stopped playing right when she noticed us. She had the most beautiful eyes, her makeup makes them pop, but her eyes are gorgeous. She had a cute little outfit on. She always dressed cute, even yesterday at practice she was dressed cute.

"Can we help you?"
Darin asked in almost sarcastic way.

"We just wanted to know if we could hang with you guys?"
Lheanna said trying to sound nice

Mia and Alexa burst out laughing followed by Steven and Darin.

"Umm I don't know why you would wanna hang with us, I mean Nicole you never have anything nice to say to a brace face looser virgin who's never been kissed." Mia laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

"Oooo that's a burn!" Alexa chimed in After Mia.

I put my hand to my Mouth trying not to laugh, when Nicole looked at me with a look that could have killed.

"Well we're being nice now." Madison said.

"I suppose If you wanna join you can.." Mia spoke up unsure if she could even back up what she was saying.

Kyle, Greg, Steve, Lheanna, Nicole, Madison, and myself joined there circle.
I seen Mia whisper something to Alexa and it looked like from reading lips Alexa said "are you sure you wanna do this?"
Mia closed her eyes and nodded her head yes like she made one of the biggest decisions of her life.

Mia swallowed hard and she looked really nervous..she took a deep breath and said.
"Well not sure if really anyone cares besides Alexa, Steven, and Darin but I wrote this song originally playing on piano and was able to translate it to play on guitar, I finished it up today...it's called sunflower."

Mia look one last deep breath, and she began to play her guitar some..starting to sing

She sang through the rest of the song and her voice was beautiful as ever. She put so much emotion into her song and voice it was powerful. Towards the end of her song she had a few tears stream down her face.

She stopped playing and rested her guitar in her lap. She looked up at everyone and we instantly made eye contact with one another. She gave me a soft & gentle grin. I looked over at Nicole and I think she was just as blown away as I was.

"So was that song about anyone or anything?" Lheanna spoke up like nothing just happened.

"Yeah, It was about this sweet guy I met. I believed he was different than any other guy I've Met, and I know in my heart there is good in him. I think he's more into roses than sunflowers." Mia smiled and nodded her head.

"That song wasn't about Noah was it?" Madison spoke up.

"Who cares who, what, when, where, why, or even how?!" Darin spoke up loudly.
"Let's be real for a minute, if it was about him. Mia is entitled to write about who she wants when she wants, she's an amazing artist and she's got such a bright future. Any guy would be lucky to have her." He added to his statement.

I looked at Mia and she discretely nodded her head what may have been yes.

I don't even know what to say or think right now..Mia really does like me and you know to be real I've beginning to question if I don't like her back.
