A New Path

Chapter 13: Graduation

I woke up and I was happy. Today was my graduation. I got up and took a shower. After my shower, I put on my best dress and got my gown. I headed downstairs and had breakfast. As I sat downstairs, my parents came downstairs.

"Morning baby," my dad said.

"Morning."

"My baby is Valedictorian. I'm sooo proud of you," my mom said.

"I am too," I heard Trevor say. I was confused and I turned my head. Just as I turned my head, my lips touched Trevor's and he kissed me.

"What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to come by." I looked at him and his shirt was open and he had his tie in his hand.

"Did you rush out your house?"

"Yes."

"Come here," I said as I turned around and looked at Trevor. I took his tie and put it around his neck. I fixed him up.

"Thank you."

"Welcome."

"Oh baby we have to get to school early."

"Ok. Mom, Dad I have to get to school early."

"Ok sweetie. See you later." With that I got my speech, gown and headed out with Trevor. We got to his car and headed inside. Then we headed to the school. At the school, Trevor and I got out the car and did our same routine but this time, Trevor lay back on the car and I lay back on him. I lay my head back on him and looked up at him.

"I have something special planned for you tonight. It's just going to be you and me."

"Are you sure my parents will approve?

"Yes I asked. We are having dinner with them and then it's just you and me."

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

"Ok," I said.

"So are you ready for graduation, baby?"

"Kind of, I'm nervous."

"It's ok. When I sit, I'll be in the middle so you can look at me and smile. You will do fine."

"We'll see," I said looking at him. He kissed me. After the kiss, we headed inside to get ready.

As we were getting ready, it was soon time to walk in. All the seats were full and the music started. We started walking in and taking our seats. The ceremony started and soon was time for my speech. I was called up and I looked out at everybody. I looked in the back and saw my parents waving. Then I looked to the front, where my boyfriend was sitting and smiling at me. He mouthed the words, 'I love you' and I started blushing. Then I started my speech. During my speech, I tried to hold in my tears. I was really going to miss my high school teachers and friends. When I finished, everyone clapped. I looked at everyone but I didn't see Trevor. I looked around for him but didn't see him. I turned to walk off the stage and there he was. I smiled as I walked towards him. He held his hand out as I came down the step and he helped me. When I was off the stage, he kissed me on my cheek. Then he whispered in my ear. He said,

"I am proud to be your boyfriend. I love you." I started blushing. Suddenly, everyone said, "awwwwww". That just made me blush more. He walked me to my seat and he sat back down. The ceremony continued and we got out diplomas. After, they said the final statement and we threw our hats in the air. I got my hat and I quickly looked for Trevor. As I was looking, I found him but he was far away and he saw me too. I started walking towards him but people kept hugging and congratulating me. I started looking around for Trevor but I couldn't find him and I was getting dizzy. Suddenly, someone bumped into me and I fell. Before I got far, someone caught me. I opened my eyes and there he was. I smiled and he lifted me up.
