∆ Chapter Nine ∆

"Thank you! Have a good night Denise." I say and toss my apron to the holding rack.

　

I close up my office and lock the door before switching off the kitchen lights so that the dim diner light glow. I grab two plates and make a burger and fries for both of us and go back to the far booth where the beauty sat. This whole time she has waited. I thought she deserved a little thanks.

　

I sit down and hand her the plate. "I hate to seem picky but I am actually a vegetarian." She says and chuckles, "I will definitely eat the fries though!" She says and I get up quickly before going back into the kitchen and tossing a salad together quickly adding in tomatoes and croutons with some shredded cheese. I hand her the bowl and she smiles, the lightest tint of pink on her cheeks.

　

Ughh why are you so fucking cute??

　

"Thank you Cutie." She says softly.

　

"Is that gonna be a thing now? I have a name you know." I say and bite my fry.

　

"Yeah I know. Do you not like the Cutie thing?" She asks and looks up at me.

　

"I never said that I just wanted to make sure you know my actual name." I say and giggle.

　

What the fuck was that?

　

She looks at me and grins making me blush as I look down and take a bite of my burger. "Oh shit does me eating meat like make you uncomfortable?" I ask after chewing for a bit"

　

She laughs lowly and shakes her head, "Not at all. Enjoy" I grin and we continue to eat and make small talk. She is actually really fucking funny.

Eventually we both finish eating and I put the dishes in the large washer with the others and start it for the night before heading back out and walking out of the restaurant with Jensen following. I turn off the lights and lock up before walking towards the parking lot. She smiles as we make our way over, the stars shinning down.

　

"Thank you for talking to me." She says and I nod smiling.

　

"It was pleasant enough." I tease and bump into her while she laughs.

　

I get to my car and notice that there is not another car in the lot. "Did you not bring your car?"

　

　

"Well, funny story. Courtney insisted on driving me and I agreed." She says and rubs the back of her neck.

　

I roll my eyes and open the passenger door for her and she grins. "Nice ride." She smirks and I wait till her door closes to let out a shaky breath and climb into my side of the Jeep.

　

"Music preference?" I ask and she plugs her phone into the aux cord and begins playing Heaven by Kane Brown.

　

I smile unintentionally and she begins to sing along to the song and its like the whole world faded away and my eyes tuned into her voice. God it was beautiful, raspy and deep but oh so fucking sweet.

　

I hummed and eventually started singing too as she broke off to listen and give me directions to her house. It was a little bit of a drive but I didn't mind. Jensen played all kinds of songs with different genres and most of them i knew.

　

"I love your taste in music." I say as another song comes to an end.

　

"Me too." She smirks and I hit her arm gently before we come to a stop at a large farm house. She smiles and looks over at me.

　

"Thank you for the ride." She says and I nod.

　

"Anytime Jensy...Now get out so I can go home." I tease and she blushes before hoping out of the car and walking up to the house. I wait until she is fully inside before backing out and driving off.
