He knocked on the door.
She answered.
"Large cheese pizza" he said looking at the girl with tear stained cheeks and a messy bun. He looked down at her band shirt with stains and stretchy shorts trying to figure out if that was her outfit of the day or if she's been in pajamas all day. She noticed him judging her so she just handed him the bills and struggled to get the huge pizza box into her slim arms without dropping it.
She rolled her eyes while she walked away. "Wait!" the boy who looked very rebellious but spent all his waking hours alone said. She found him very attractive (in a cool bad boy way) but she would never plan on admitting that. She turned around.
"What?" she asked trying to snap but her voice cracked and she kind of looked like a desperate puppy.
"Is that all for you?" he said referring to the large pizza.
"No." she lied. "who is it for?" he called her out. "Me and my boyfriend," she lied again. "Bullshit, no car."
"He walked."
"You look eighteen at least so I'm guessing your boyfriend doesn't walk." she shrugged realizing he was right. "Why are you home alone?"
"No one else I would be with."
"So you don't have friends?" he asked partly hoping she would so he doesn't feel like a dick for asking that. she stays silent and he realizes he was right about his inquiries. "parents?"
"They're gone," she replied timidly.
"Would you like someone to hang out with?" He asked feeling weird that he was the one finally asking.
"Why would you want to? it's not like we're gonna have sex."
He literally laughed out loud. "Sweetie, I wasn't implying sex, I was implying you need a companion in this big as fuck house."
"You wouldn't want sex?" she asked feeling foolish.
"Who doesn't want sex? I'm just saying my reason for wanting to hang out is just to hang out. you look like you need a friend."
"I don't need anything." she actually snapped the time.
"Everybody needs something. Now do you want me to come inside or not?" She nodded not wanting, but needing someone to talk to.
