So I've just watched a movie I've been wanting to watch for a while... and damn it's really good.

The movie is called your name. It is a Japanese anime movie. So basically a girl (Mitsuha) lives in a small town switches body with a boy (Taki) who lives in Tokyo. They switch lives during their sleep and forget when they wake up.  The village of Mitsuha is hit by a comet and destroyed. Taki and Mitsuha have a three years difference between them so when Taki try to find Mitsuha and goes to her village he discovers that her village has been destroyed by the comet. He tries to communicate with Mitsuha to help her warn everyone about the comet, so she'll live.

Reasons why I loved this movie:

1. The story is so unique and interesting. It was a bit complex with the three years difference between the two but the time traveling and switching bodies (although popular) was so well executed it left me speechless.

2. The animation was out of this world. It felt real, the animation was on point and the decors of the small town was so beautiful and light that at some point in the movie I felt goosebumps.

I mean look at these pictures, they feel very real to me. You could just watch the entire movie for the animation.

3. The history/culture. What I like about foreign tv shows or movies is that it can show some traditions or values of other countries. In Mitsuha's village, her grandmother was really into traditions so it was nice and interesting to see them perform traditional rituals like Kuchikamizake.

4.Relatable. Mitsuha is from a small town and wants to get out of there. She doesn't like the fact that there aren't any coffee shops or museum and other fun things to do. I used to live in a small town where everywhere you would go you would meet someone you know, the transport system is really bad and to go shopping you have to go to another city. Already with Mitsuha's situation, it helped me get more into the movie.

5. The characters a lovable especially Mitsuha younger sister who is so cute, the wise grandma, the two nice friends. For Taki, his friends who supported him when he went to Itomori.

6. Also, a cute love story is always welcomed!

I watched the dubbed version because it was available and because the voice over didn't bother me (english voice over for spanish/italian movie/show kind of bother me, I don't like their voices)
