Revenge on Joker.
Jason Todd watched as Joker roamed the streets free and clenched his jaw, how dare he still be drawing breath. He could remember dying like it was yesterday instead of five years. Joker had attack and he’d followed him only to be captured and beaten with a crowbar. Jason had tried to get free but soon realized that was hopeless, but he knew Bruce would save him, he always had. Eventually though he became to weak to move, his lung was collapsed and his nose and rib were broken, not to mention all the other injuries he had. Joker left and he dragged himself across the warehouse to the door, he heard Bruce pull up as Batman right at the same time the bomb went off: killing him.
The next thing Jason could remember was waking back up in the Lazarus Pit, after running from there he’d gotten his life back together as much as he could. But now, now he’d get revenge on Joker for almost killing him. Something Bruce should’ve done long ago. Jason jumped down from his hiding spot and landed in front of Joker.
“So we meet again.” Jason smirked under his hood.
“Have we met?” Joker asked confused.
“A while ago.”
“Wait, are you one of the people I went on a bank heist with?”
“Nope.”
Jason lunged forward and knocked him out before Joker could ask anything else, he took him to crime alley; where he’d first met Batman, and tied Joker up inside an abandoned building. He grabbed a crowbar as Joker started to regain consciousness and walked over to him.
“What’s going on?” Joker laughed but eyed the crowbar nervously.
Jason swung the crowbar and made contact with the Joker’s ribs, cracking could be heard and he grinned before doing it again. “Tell me, what hurts more. A? Or B?”
Joker’s eyes widened as he remembered that phrase. “Well if it isn’t the little birdie.”
“It’s Red Hood now.” Jason hissed before hitting him in the spine.
He continued to beat Joker mercilessly with the crowbar until the clown was coughing blood all over the floor, Joker laughed at Jason when he took a break but winced.
“How do you feel?” Jason grinned as his enemy’s pained expression.
“It only hurts when I laugh.” Joker smirked, showing off his blood stained teeth.
Jason hit him once more with the crowbar before taking out his gun. “Too bad no one is here to watch me wipe the smile off your face.”
Batman burst through the wall just as Jason pulled the trigger, he grinned up as his old mentor as blood pooled around Joker’s lifeless body.
“Jason what have you done?” Batman whispered.
“What you should’ve!” Jason growled before setting off a bomb’s detonator.
Batman looked over to where the bombs were and back at Jason. “Turn them off, this doesn’t have to happen!”
“It does. In fact I’m going to become someone better than you. Psychopaths like Joker would never have learned their lesson being locked up repeatedly. So the only solution is to kill them.”
Jason watched as the timer went down to one second, as soon as the explosion went off her ran, if Bruce did survive though Jason wouldn’t let him find his body, hopefully Bruce would just think he’d been turned to ash. Or at least that’s what he would think until the next time they met.
