The series of life was quite simple to understand - birth, childhood, teenage years, adulthood, elderly years, then eventually death. It was a circle of events that couldn't be escaped, well, to most people's knowledge that seemed. There were plenty of people, plenty of beings that broke that cycle. Many of them blended within society, hidden amongst normal human beings, pretending to be as everyone else - but deep down? They were different, so much different. They led different lifestyles, habits, diets. It was all a game of pretend until someone caught on entirely, but rarely anyone caught onto to those who hide within the crowds so easily. It was far too simple to blend in when most people remained oblivious to their surroundings, to the people around them at all times.

It would be the downfall of many.

Adorned in blue scrubs, Aidan Waite crossed through the hallways of the hospital. The ravenette worked beside his housemate and best friend, Josh Levison and his girlfriend Nora Sergeant. Aidan seemed normal to anyone who seen him, nothing seemed off about him at all aside from his extremely relaxed nature. If there was one thing no one, aside from Josh, knew of Aidan - it was the factor that he was a vampire. While Aidan appeared to only be around his thirties, he was truly two hundred and sixty one years old. Having been turned during the Revolutionary War, it took many years for him to learn to blend into social norm. Even now, he still stood out at times, struggled to hide his true nature under a blanket of lies he only continued to pile as days passed by.

The vampire had snuck out early, ditching the last twenty minutes of his shift to handle some... important business. Crossing into a dark alley, Aidan took a shortcut towards his home, but ended up bumping into someone as he crossed onto the sidewalk. Staggering back a little, caramel hues met the person's gaze, a low, honeyed laugh escaping the ravenette. He helped the person to straighten themselves after the collision, offering a warm, welcoming smile.

"I am so sorry, I wasn't paying attention at all. I just got off work and I'm exhausted," Aidan mused, extending his hand in a friendly gesture, smile never fading - though, a small sliver of his fang was now revealed. "My name's Aidan. Aidan Waite. Don't worry, I'm not some sort of creepy killer here to lure you into a trap. Just an exhausted nurse."
